link The merger between the UFC and the WEC is expected to bring the featherweights and bantamweights to a whole new level of popularity and exposure, and one of the best ways to realize that will be when the first class of 145-pound or 135-pound fighters make their way to “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show.

ouch...wow

i hadnt even thought of 135/145ers coaching the show even though the contestants being at that weight has come up. this is a brilliant way for the ufc to introduce a couple of the top guys at the lower weights to the fans that havent seen wec. its going to happen soon, and the winners of the show at those weight classes are going to be bona fide stars because so few people know FWs and BWs.

I think it might happen if Faber takes out Mizugaki and then Cruz takes out Jorgenson. I think they will likely fight for the title. Imagine the bad blood that would be involved with Benavidez likely in Faber's coaching team. Could also see it being Faber and Torres, with them already being two of the most popular guys in the lower weight classes.

Fantastic idea anyway they decide to do it.

my first thought was faber and torres because they are probably the most well known.

If you think about it more recently the UFC have tried to have coaches heavier or 'Stronger' than the weights they are coaching

Rampage and Griffin Middleweights
Mir and Nog LHW and LWs
Henderson Bisping WW and LWs
Rashad and Rampage was an exception but its not like HW's were getting trained by WWs...
Ortiz and Liddell MWs
GSP and Koscheck LW

I could see it being Aldo KenFlo Catchweight Teaching maybe Bantamweights

the new weight classes would be a great and well needed boost for that show...
