"Dana White mentioned that the winner should get another chance in the Ultimate Fighting Championship."
"As the date hasn’t been set, it’s just a verbal agreement, so I’m getting back to light training. But I want to have a good performance. Who knows? Maybe I’ll manage a return to the UFC. I feel really comfortable fighting in that Octagon. I feel leaving there was the biggest mistake of my career, my great regret."

Both are impossible for me to get excited about....I think they should both just stay out there with.... Monson, Barnett, and Rogers....good for the little leagues but not UFC quality guys IMO.

I think Big Tim would be a great replacement for Napao. The guy that seperates the Contenders from the rest of the field. I think he'd create some interesting matchups.

Personally I feel the current batch of heavyweights in the UFC would destroy both Rizzo and Sylvia. I think it would fine of either of them to come back to the UFC as long as everyone realizes what they are......Tomato Cans. I mean no disrespect to either fighter but I don't see either of them doing anything in the UFC other than getting knocked out. They need to stick to the smaller promotions. They don't need the losses on their records or the cobwebs in their heads....especially Rizzo. I feel he has been knocked out too many times. While they might make a reasonable payday or two in the UFC, they aren't at the UFC "Championship" level anymore. The game has passed them by.

Oh, good point.
I think Tim has the tools to keep a spot in the UFC.

I don't get all the hate. Both guys are good solid fighters and would be good gate-keepers. Pedro is exciting to watch...and Tim has it in him to be exciting. I wouldn't count either out of a title run completely (though I agree it's not a high chance with all these new HWs). I think Tim is probably the more UFC-caliber guy of the two, but if Rizzo can win in impressive fashion he would change my mind.

People like to pile on Sylvia, he wasn't fun to watch and he has the kind of personality that turns people off.
He also was a lightening rod of the PRIDE/UFC nuthugger war that dominated MMA discussion back in the day. He was the UFC champ, but PRIDE had many HWs who most considered to be better fighters and PRIDE nuthuggers would bash UFC nuthuggers over the head with it.
Then, the few fans he had left when he got embarassed by Fedor in the old Affliction cards.
Then, he went into a fight with Ray Mercer looking like a bull walrus and got KTFO in 8 secs.
He will never get his due, but he is a top 15 All-time HW. He beat Ricco when that meant a lot. He went 2/3 against Andrei Arlovski. He is the lead role in one of the nastiest arm breaks in mma history. He invented the "stinkpants" technique.

Current ufc fighters I feel Sylvia could beat(at least 40% of the time):
1. Frank Mir 2. Big Nog 3. Kongo 4. Schaub 5. Cro-cop 6. Roy Nelson 7. Ben Rothwell 8. Stefan Struve 9. Matt Mitrione 10. Joey Beltran 11. Tim Hague etc...
There's maybe 3-4 people in the division Sylvia would have little to no chance against, but outside of the top 5, everybody has that exact same issue. To say that Sylvia isn't up to snuff with the rest of the division is grossly inaccurate.
You need to have great takedowns or better stand-up(plus a chin) to beat Sylvia. Most fighters dont fit that mold.

I agree. You can say Sylvia is boring, but you can't say that he isn't a UFC-caliber fighter.
On second thought, never mind. Go ahead and say that. I made some real money on Sylvia when he was the underdog against Brandon Vera.

3. Kongo 4. Schaub 6. Roy Nelson 7. Ben Rothwell 8. Stefan Struve 9. Matt Mitrione
I'd watch Sylvia against any of these guys, and I'm not certain who I'd pick to win.
