Former WEC welterweight titleholder Carlos Condit stunned the O2 Arena in London by knocking out favored Dan Hardy in the first round of their important 170-pound matchup at UFC 120 on Saturday.
“This was definitely the biggest fight of my career, fighting on the co-main [event],” said Condit. “[Defeating] Dan in his backyard at the O2 Arena is the biggest win of my career so far.”
This marks the third straight victory for “The Natural Born Killer” inside the Octagon since he was defeated in his debut by Danish striker Martin Kampmann at UFC Fight Night 18 in 2009. Avenging that loss, along with a 2006 defeat to newly-signed Jake Shields, is at the forefront of the New Mexican’s mind.

Condit wants winner of Kampmann/Shields Fitch wants winner of Kampmann/Shields
Fitch was thought to get next WW title shot if GSP beats Kos. Now it seems if Shields wins he gets next crack at WW title.
So maybe Condit vs Fitch, depending on what Fitch does.

That or Condit will end up getting the loser of Kampmann/Shields, and for some reason I have a feeling Fitch might fight Matt Hughes if he win against Penn.

I like the sound of Condit and Fitch. And after seeing his power last night, it would be an extremely close fight.

I don't see how everyone jumps on a fighters nuts when he gets a win like this. It's like Rampage knocking out Wanderlei, what an amazing win that he caught Wanderlei first after both were rocked and one power punch away.
It shows nothing. Guarantee you if he fights Fitch he gets absolutely dominated on the ground wrestling and after losing such a dominated decision people will say, he showed nothing special in the past.
Goldfish.

Greg Jackson seems to be doing wonders for Condit. He looked sharp last night. If the fight happens I would love to do an AV bet with you.

Punching power doesn't stop takedowns.

Jon Fitch doesn't fight new contenders.
If Dan Hardy was in Condit's position right now, that fight would probably materialize, but I doubt Dana White wants to sacrifice a rising star to Fitch, who would be a betting favorite against every fighter at welterweight sans GSP.
Condit vs. Lytle would be an amazing and relevant fight for both.

Length and knees don't either right?

You might want to ask yourselves the percentage of fighters who use punches and knees as takedown defense. As far as I can tell not tmany, and not the good ones. Except Aldo, but he's the ****.

I think that Condit vs Kampmann would be great but I think that Shields (if he wins) should fiight Fitch for the #1 contender spot. I also think that he would beat Fitch.

If Fitch fought Condit by the end of the night Condit's parents would be trying to pressure Fitch into marrying their son.

I think Fitch is the more tenacious wrestler and Shields will not sub Fitch from his back.
