According to sources close to him, Jason Brilz is now off UFC 122 in Germany due to a back injury. He was to have faced Vladimir Matyushenko. Chute Boxe standout and Brazilian light heavyweight Alexandre Ferreira, who has now signed a multi-fight deal with UFC according to the TATAME, is the replacement. Ferreira is 18-6 career and mainly competes in World Vale Tudo Championships, an old-school style promotion in Brazil.

Very excited to see cacareco in the UFC. It'll be interesting to see how well he can use his submission game against the stifling control of Matyushenko.

Interesting, Cacareco is a guy that can take your limbs home in a second, or gas and proceed to lose a 3 round decision. He has the grappling style of Palhares, and usually exerts a lot of energy early. He had ballooned up to 300+ lbs during a "semi-retirement" where he couldnt get picked up by a large promotion. He kind of has a loose-cannon type personality, and had some real fun grappling wars with the likes of Filho, etc. He definitely liked to get into altercations with many other Brazilians.

I wonder why they would like to sign Cacareco and not Arona (although im sure Cacareco comes at a cheaper price).

However, I think the fight plays out one or two ways: Cacareco takes Vladdy's leg home early or he loses a decision.

I think Matsyushenko can neutralize him during the first round and take a decision.
