If it feels like Jamie Varner and Donald Cerrone have been at each other's throats for two years, well, it's because they have.

The two first fought in January 2009. Varner won via technical decision after Cerrone landed an illegal knee to Varner's head in the fifth round of their title fight.

Varner was winning the bout on most people's scorecards up until that point (I had him winning four rounds to none), but Cerrone, who was beginning to put the heat on Varner in the fifth stanza felt like the then-champion was looking for a way out.

I hope Cerrone whoops his ass. Although it could very easily go either way.

And by could... you mean will.... lol

I really like Cerrone but after he loses to Jamie he will and should drop to 145.

I disagree, realistically no single person could set a sport back ten years. The worse the action they commit, the more likely we are to see that insanity as unique to the person and not congruent with the sport as a whole. The less severe it is, the more it can be tied into the sport all together but then it also carries less weight overall because the action itself isnt as big.

Things balance themselves out, and i doubt anyone would be stupid enough to be swayed by what one person does. If they were, then those people were just looking for a reason anyway. Eventually they would find it because thats what they're looking for.

+1 to Varner for openly speaking his mind, but minus-infinity to the argument in the headline.

OK, Varner. Calling Cerrone a hillbilly and dropping 'retarded' in the same breath.

IMO both these guys are idiots.

-2 for a pair of knuckleheads

Yep. I must admit, I posted the "+1 Varner" comment prior to reading the article. They honestly remind me of two 10-year olds arguing on the school bus.

With that being said...I'll still be pulling for Varner. He's been the least childish of the two...BY FAR.

Agreed.

Although, in a perfect world, the fight would end in a double KO.

I want Cerrone to smash overratted Varner. Too bad neither of them can be semi mature.

Maybe not lately, but I distinctly remember him being overrated last time I had to hear about him. He just never impressed. If he beats Cerrone I will reevaluate a bit.

So a win over an unproven Cerrone will possibly make you change your mind and cause you to be impressed with Varner?

What has Cerrone done that's so impressive?
