Saturday night it seemed Mirko Cro Cop and Frank Mir were doing more talking than fighting. At one point the two were so gabby that they continued a conversation after instructed to break by the referee. What was so important that it couldn't wait until after the fight? Cro Cop revealed what was said to a Croatian news service...

You know, neither of these guys are usually in a boring fight. Based on that alone I kind of hate to see Dana not give the customary PPV bonus. I mean, it just makes me wonder if Anderson Silva got one for some of his performances. Mir and CC put on one boring fight out of the many good ones they've had and they're punished? Bad precedent IMO. Sometimes boring fights happen. Get over it.

It's funny how when you put two entertaining fighters together it always seems to work out less than stellar. Just like two great wrestlers usually strike. Or two great strikers wrestle.

Anyways, I think that was a bully move by Dana and pretty much BS personally.

I think if anything Mir deserves more credit for the knockout considering what happened prior to that. Cro Cop was on defense the whole fight and pretty much refused to engage. The fact that Mir was able to get a knockout out of such a sh**y fight is pretty impressive.

I would like to hear Mir's version of the conversation. It looked to me like he was talking first and I assumed he was bashing Cro Cop for refusing to engage.

I was wondering what they were saying in Round 3 against the cage. Glad Mirko came out with it. Funny conversation really.

While I was grocery shopping today I saw some asparagus and it made me think of their conversation.

My 2 cents:

Crop Cop is not in it solely for the belt. He enjoys fighting and wants to put on a good show. Hence the reason he said they should go to the middle and brawl. You never hear him blabbing about the title. He takes it one fight at a time.

Mir, with no disrespect to him, has goals of the title (or just Lesner). Hence the reason he chose to keep it where Cro Cop was less dangerous. For him, he needs to win anyway he can to climb back to the top.

Unfortunately for Mir, it doesn't work by winning=title. He has to impress Dana, and it seems he def. did not.

First of all, if you don't like the fight, turn it off. You don't need to wait for a finish.

Second, their styles matched up in a way that led to a boring fight. There's nothing amateur about it. In fact amateur fights are usually the most exciting because they have nothing to lose. They just go out and brawl.

Frank was fighting "not to lose" as aopposed to fighting to win. I respect him as a fighter....he got the win. Seems like Dana has had his panties in a bunch. First Duffee gettting the boot and now Mir getting shaft!
