From one AA fan to another, why would you make such a illogical assumption? A mouth guard is a mouth guard, a beard is a beard, neither will even dissuade someone from aiming for his chin. All AA can do to work on that weakness is learn to tuck his chin in, defend it better with his hands and lift some neck weights to prevent less whipping when he takes a punch.

Nothing illogical about it. What's your theory?

Its just a look, why would a mouth shield with fangs printed on it, and a full scruff beard stop people from punching in the chin.

Thats just like saying Randy Couture keeps a bald head to shine the rings lights off and blind his opponents.

It's a slight psychological edge that is difficult to appreciate. If you know you have a glass jaw, you do everything to hide your weakness...including gimmicks like a full beard and "fanged" teeth.

I still like AA...I have been predicting that he could knock out CC for a while now. It doesn't seem so absurd after Gonzaga...

its not very hard to ko CC, its just hard to get within range, strike and ko CC.

I mean that guys chin and facial bone structure is fairly small.

Now I have to say, that second structure is some ridiculous BS. I heard the UFC commentators talking about it, and I had a right good laugh at it. They dont understand the physiology involved in taking a punch, and its nothing to do with bone structure or how big your chin is, and its all to do with how strong your neck muscles are, and how much your brain rocks in the cranial cavity.

Mark Hunt doesnt have a large head, or large bone structure of the face and he is just about the hardest guy to KO in MMA.

If facial bone structure had any correlation to a fighters ability to take punches, Tito would be be unstoppable, no one would be able to KO him.

Mark Hunt has like no neck.

But to be on-topic, I believe any (normal) man will get KO by a clean punch courtesy of Arlovski.

That AA fight was so frustrating, I was yelling at my TV. "Do something Andre!" I felt like I was in the passenger seat of an Enzo Ferrari being driven down a lone highway for 15 minutes at 5 miles per hour. Punch it! Go Go Go! Please god, go!

What the hell was Andre doing? He was fighting so damn defensive. Good Game plan, torture to watch. Come on Andre! Pitbull? Not in your last fight.

They should have used Andrei as one of the Spartans in the movie, he would have looked perfect.

He would have had to wear the gumshield of course.
