This time, there will be no question. After eight straight wins in the UFC, undefeated lightweight contender Gray Maynard will finally get his shot at the title in a rematch with current champion Frankie Edgar. And while their first encounter wasn't exactly a barnburner, UFC president Dana White says he has no concerns over the challenge of making the fight a financial success. The UFC boss made the upcoming bout official following Saturday night's UFC 118 event in Boston, where Maynard earned a three-round decision over top challenger Kenny Florian and Edgar successfully defended his belt against former champion B.J. Penn. "I said if Gray beats Kenny, Gray gets his shot," White said. "He absolutely beat Kenny." Maynard & Edgar first fought in April 2008 when Maynard won but Edgar got the first title shot afterwards.

this one is tough to call for me even though maynard took it the first time around. simply due to the evolution of both of the fighters it is tough to call for me as of right now.

I don't think Edgar will be able to get out from underneath him in time to salvage anything, for someone to beat Gray they are going to have to be strong and able to wrestle. Maynard maybe the new champ soon.

I really hope Edgar wins the rematch. I appreciate Gray's talent level and what he's accomplished, but the guy bores the hell out of me. That being said, the positives for Frankie are many of the same positives for Florian i.e. footwork and headmovement although Kenny is more of a Muay Thai guy, and we all saw what Gray did to Kenny. Again, I respect the guy, but I hope he gets beaten in the rematch.

They both bore the hell out of me. They have 3 finishes in the ufc combined in like 16 fights. Thats what I used to love about BJ he went in their looking to finish guys, where both of these two seem like they go in to grind out a decision. Gray uses his wrestling, and frankie uses his speed and footwork, but neither of them seem like they are trying to finish fights. I know their job is to win not finish, but as a fan it is very frustrating that these are the top 2 guys in the division right now.

I totally agree. Neither fighter excites me as a fan. I think that Gray wins a wrestling match for a UD in this fight. Then he'll fight BJ and get owned.

Unless there are some other really good match-ups on this card I won't be paying for it. Maybe I'll head over to Buffalo wild Wings but I honestly wouldn't be too upset if I missed watching this fight. And that'd be the first even I didn't watch since like UFC 40 something.

No way this headlines a pay per view
Look for this to co headline the dec card
With gsp vs kos as main event

They are not markatable two guys who grind out decisions is not a fun fight
They need more push to make a pay per view draw
