And "The Irish Hand Grenade" thinks it'll give him a clear advantage at UFC 118 this weekend when he faces Diaz. "He's similar to me as far as what he uses in his arsenal. I think that what Diaz does for his boxing, being long, throwing out his lead left hand a lot, he has some good things that he does. But I have more tools. I have better footwork. He moves forwards and backwards. I move side to side. I'm good at closing the gap quickly and getting my shots off and getting back out. I think that I'm the more powerful puncher. I don't think there is any question about that. I hit guys with one shot and they go out. As far as boxing skill goes, I think I have the advantage there."

sadly this isnt a boxing match, and nates has a bigger edge on the ground than marcus does standing. i hate picking a diaz brother to win, but theyre so good that you have to more often than not.

I agree totally, but we will just have to wait and see.
I think Nate and Nick are effective offensively on the feet, but take shots cause they have good chins. Marcus has the better footwork and power. Nate looked stronger at 170 , so I am not sure who im picking 2 win.

Im picking nate by late sub. So I hope he gets it to the ground and doesnt try to trade for too long with marcus, otherwise he'll get picked apart.

Marcus stopped using his boxing effectively a long time ago. I hope he gets it back and KO's Diaz, but I kind of doubt it at this point. On the feet I still think he will win the battle, just not as badly as he COULD have at one point.

I think it's easy to look at the two of them and say, "Oh ya, Marcus Davis has the better boxing." From a fundamentals perspective, absolutely he does. But which one is the more effective striker? I think that's a much harder question to answer and I think it might be Diaz.

Davis better pure boxer but Diaz has better all around stand up if that makes any sense. Davis had his hands full with Goulet for cryin out loud. I got Diaz winning convincingly, just not sure of the method yet.

To be fair I think Davis's age is catching up to him. He's definitely slowing down. I think that had a lot to do with his poor performance against Goulet (who despite his Chin is still a talented fighter).

he undoubtedly a good boxer, however i think diaz will give him trouble with his reach. diaz is very durable and if Davis cant out box him early in the fight he will get taken down and sub'ed. that will be unfortunate for 2 reasons: #1 i cant friggin' stand either diaz bro's, and if Davis loses it will be very hard to recover from this loss. he really cant afford to lose much anymore cause he hasn't had many wins by dismantling his opponent for quite a while.

I think diaz will cut him and make him bleed I think davis could win by tko if diaz makes this a stand up brawl But if it hits the ground I think diaz will win by sub

I totally agree his age is catching up with him. That's another reason I think Diaz takes the fight.

Diaz will win via submission in the 2nd round, after recieving a flurry or two.
