Linkage!

Following his second-round TKO loss to Rick Story at UFC 117, Dustin Hazelett's coach Jorge Gurgel tells Heavy.com that "McLovin'" will move back down to 155 pounds for his next fight.

If anything, he should go up. Hes already super thin for a welterweight. Lightweight would be really unhealthy..

Yeah I am really surprised lightweight would even be possible, but I if he is getting pushed around in WW it seems like he would be pushed around in MW

I am interested in seeing him there if he can cut the weight correctly. If not.....just stay at WW. With GG and I would suppose Franklin helping him, he should be able make the cut.

I think this is a good move. If he can get his normal body weight to about 170, which he should be able to do safely, he will have no problem making the cut to 155. I'm guessing he'll probably only need to lose 10 or 15 pounds off of his normal weight, and then he can cut from there.

Don't see how dropping the weight is going to help when his biggest problem is dealing with guys rushing in on him. Unless he thinks the additional size advantage will give him a bit of a mental edge.

His biggest problem of late seems to be that he doesn't have or trust his ability to take guys down and as a result he breaks mentally when they rush him. It's a damn shame too he's one of my favorite fighters to watch. This is a terrible knee-jerk reaction and I'm not sure I see it going well for him.

Certainly wish him the best though.

He fought at 155 at UFC 67 against Diego Saraiva and looked very good. I think this is a good move for him.

I think it's his one last chance to stay relevant....it's not the advice I would be offering to the guy.

He says he weighs around 175 walking around, a move to 155 would only heighten his reach advantage and the difficulty in trying to roll with him on the ground.

There's no way Hazelett is going to have great takedowns regardless of how hard he trains. So, as long as the weight cut doesnt drain his energy... i think its a positive move as opposed to staying at 170 and changing nothing.

I agree completely here. Let's be honest the ufc will prolly give him a fight he can win in his first fight and then who knows. He trying to change things up with his recent losses. I'm all for it

I think this will b a good move 4 dusty. ive known dusty all his life we grew up right across the road from each other in highbottom, louisa ky, he has had a rough road lately with injuries and this is the frist time he has ever lost 2 fights in a row. I think he will b tough handle in this division 4 any1. he walks around anywere from 168 to 174 or 5 pounds. hes got a good diet he is goin 2 go by with his coaches and also he is going 2 try 2 get rid of about 8 to ten pounds of fulid weight off of him 2 make his cut more easy. even with him coming down a weight class and with him coming off 2 straight losses i know dusty he will not want a gimme fight.
