Former UFC welterweight striker Paul Daley has been slapped with a 30-day suspension for his unprofessional conduct following a UFC 113 loss to Josh Koscheck in what was billed as a 170-pound number one contender's bout back on May 8. "Semtex" exploded after he was outwrestled for three rounds on the televised portion of the "Machida vs. Shogun II" fight card. Koscheck neutralized the deadly hands of the British banger, effectively earning himself a spot as coach on the upcoming twelfth season of The Ultimate Fighter(TUF) opposite division champion Georges St. Pierre. He's now slated to appear opposite Bellator standout Jorge Masvidal at Shark Fights 13 on Sept. 11 in Amarillo, Texas. Daley's suspension is not expected to conflict with that appearance.

He'll be clear by Shark Fights time...barely. If the suspension starts today, it ends September 9. That's 2 days before the event.

Kind of a lame punishment. He doesn't even have a fight scheduled till next month anyway, so it doesn't even really effect him. I think they should have fined him or perhaps even a longer suspension and I'm a Paul Daley fan.

They're probably taking into account that he lost the highest paying job he'll ever have as a fighter and was already disciplined by the promotor.

Maybe, but i dont know if that should matter. The athletic comission should act independent of any Organization.

well he has only fought in australia who does not honour the atheltic commissions suspension, not to mention no promoter was willing to touch him in fear of what his suspension could be, i'd argue he has technically been suspended for 3 months already

It was only 2 months inbetween the Kos fight and the fight in Australia. Thats not long at all. Alot of fighters dont fight that often. and another month off.... OH NO! He just fought last month. Another two months between fights? This doesnt even hurt him whatsoever. No fines, just a month? His next fight is more then a month away. This does literally nothing....

Are you guys really serious that you're debating what his suspension should be or not be? He should have been suspended for more that 3 months, and fined. He tried to sucker punch Kos, ater the fight was already over. That's all he gets? To me that's ******* bullshit! The guy shouldn't have fought for at least a ******* year. The commission should know better. This sets a bad example for the MMA world.

well u said in ur previous post that the QAC should act independantly and they have nothing to do w australia because Daley could fight there tomorrow if he wanted. if the QAC handed down a 4 month suspension the day following the incident what would be different? nothing. as for standards, ya its a poor standard put so is palhares' suspension, rampage's cheap shots on wanderlei, bj's choke on jens, hell anderson wouldn't let go of chael just a few days ago...

Ah who cares? It was only Kos anyway. The only person in MMA who actually deserves a sucker punch. Hell I would if I was close enough...and man enough

The QAC has confirmed that the suspension is already in effect and Daley will be clear to fight at Shark Fights 13. So that fight is still on.

Diaz started a mass brawl, Daley didn't would be my guess at the difference in punishment.
