Well, this just keeps getting uglier. Professional boxer and UFC newcomer James Toney called out light heavyweight prospect Jon Jones in a recent interview with FightHype, resorting to juvenile name calling and hurling baseless allegations that likely won't make company president Dana White very happy. Toney is booked to battle Randy Couture at UFC 118 at the end of August, but he has called out just about everyone, including Brock Lesnar, who has been skeptical about his success inside the Octagon.

If Tony ever actually follows through on any of his threats I'll be amazed! So far he's called out : Brock, Mir, Randy, Chuck, Dos Santos, Jones and Silva all of witch I'd say would tool him! I can't wait to see him beaten up and humiliated soon!

He's just an old has-been who wants to pick up a paycheck and a few more minutes in the spotlight while his body is still capable of withstanding the beating any of these guys would unleash on him.
I wouldn't be surprised if Dana cut him immediately after his first loss and used him as a verbal punching bag and a reference for any future boxing vs mma arguments. If it happens, he will have brought it on himself, but I would take a beating and some insults for a few hundred thousand dollars too lol.

Man, I wonder how this whole thing unfolds if Toney beats Randy. That could get mighty interesting.

Yes we all know that Bones would shatter Toney's eye socket. Counting the days til 118 when Randy dirty boxes his ass and takes him down & punches his "Lights Out".

I don't think Randy wants to clinch with Toney. Yes Randy has a good dirty boxing from the clinch by MMA standards, but boxers can definitely tool him if they have fought for as long as Toney, its not about control just the KO power Toney has.

Toney definitely still is capable of knocking just about anyone out, but even if he manages to do it once or even twice, he'll get taken down and beat on pretty badly. I think the most he can hope for is a Houston Alexander type run.

Toney losing an MMA fight means nothing and he knows it. Will any MMA fighters have the guts to box Toney sometime down the road? Not a chance.

That's true I guess it really doesn't affect him negatively if he loses except a beating. He's older and coming into a different sport for a fight against a legend, if he loses I guess it's not gonna bug him or any boxing fans too much. He's still pretty arrogant though

can we bash this guy since he's not a real mma fighter? lol Seriously ive never wanted a severe injury to happen in a fight more than i want one to happen to james toney. I hope randy goes out there and completely humiliates and destroys toney. I really want toney to pay for all this Bullsh*t that he's talkin.

James Toney won't be able to complete a sentence within 5 years.

The fact of the matter is, he's an old boxer who was great at one time but squandered some of his skills by not working hard enough. However, you have to hand it to him, he KNOWS how to sell a fight. The very fact that his name is in the news and on people's lips when his fight doesn't happen for a long time and he's OLLLD, SHOWS he knows this. I bet Dana wishes he had more fighters like him from a promotional stand point. Dana doesn't have to TRY to get pub/marketing for this guy--he gets it for himself. Now all the MMA fans want to see Randy smash James when before they might not have cared as much about Randy since his PPV numbers and main event status has slipped---and there will be many Toney fans watching as well. Yes....there are boxing and Toney fans. ;)

That's a fight he might be able to win. Considering Goulet's glass jaw. Maybe...

He hasn't been able to for 5 years. I can hardly understand that dude as it is. I need a translator, that's why I'd rather read the statements then watch the video.
Any way, everyone already said it. He's just trying to get his name in the news...blah, blah, blah.... anyone of the guys he's called out will crush him...blah,blah,blah.
He may be selling the fight for some people but he really doesn't have me interested. I don't care about Jame Toney. Even if he KO's Randy I won't care about James Toney. If he knocks out Brock then we'll talk.
