"My parents always kept us in the house. We weren't allowed to spend the night at other people's houses. We were sheltered kids. Now all the discipline that was instilled in me is coming out; I'm naturally doing all the right things."

Those Christian values were taught to Jones long before he could walk. Jones, like his brothers Arthur Jones Jr. (a defensive tackle with the Baltimore Ravens) and Chandler Jones (a defensive end at Syracuse), was introduced to biblical teachings as an infant.

As long as he stays healthy I see him as light heavyweight champ within 2 years, that elbow to Veras head was one of the most brutal I've ever seen, just the sound it made made me cringe.

I hope he doesn't win another fight. Arrogance like this is only accepted because religion is involved.

I don't see how he's being arrogant. He seems confident in his ability to win the fight and is not trashing Vlad at all.

There wasn't one hint of arrogance behind anything that Jon said. He's a confident young kid. You darn well better be confident in yourself if your chosing to fight people for a living. He's never said a disrespectful word about one of his opponents. Class act all the way.

I don't see what he said that could make you think he was being arrogant at all.....he even said that he was working on his flaws and knew what people were better than him at and all.
Regardless I would love to see Jones defeat Vladdy in dominant fashion and get a top ranked opponent afterwards. I think if he finishes Vladdy then he more than deserves it, his performances have just been phenominal!!

Yeah I agree with everyone I don't see how he's being arrogant at all. You have to be confident to be a great fighter, if your not you'll probably lose. I think every fighter in the UFC is confident in his abilities, if he isn't he won't last in an organization like the UFC. I was lucky enough to see Jones pro MMA debut and his 3rd or 4th fight. I actually met the kid afterward because he impressed me after his debut, and he's far from arrogant. I see him being the champ at some point, his potential is unlimited!!!

War Jones!!!!

you are probably reading more into his comments than what he's saying. It's like your assuming he's being fake and is really a cocky dude. He might be, but he hasn't shown that yet from what i've seen/read.

sometimes people look down on others based on their beliefs but i'm not getting that from Jones at all. He seems like the type of dude that would be a great ambassador of his beliefs to the rest of the world.

On the flipside, it seems to me like you're considering him to be arrogant only because there's religion involved.

There was absolutely nothing arrogant about anything he said.

I don't mean to be rude but I have to say that I have seen a lot of posts from you where I think they are just made to cause a reaction. Maybe I'm wrong but I just had to say something this time.
