It wouldn't surprise me in the least, but you'll have a hard time convincing most people how good Jake is.
I picked him against Hendo and I think GSP might be the only guy in the UFC who can give him trouble. He can takedown almost anyone and outgrapple them too. I think GSP would sprawl and strike against him though, in a flip flop of his usual game plan. I'm not sure Jake could get GSP down and GSP is a far superior striker.

Kampmann should be able to take this one. Shields wont be able to have his way with Martin the way he has others.

this is exciting because after all the discussions about champions fighting champions from other orgs it will finaly come true. i dont see shields being champion but he will more than likely get a shot at top contenders and maybe eventually a title shot.

Very exciting fight! Man I'm pumped for this fight has the makings for another Kampmann/Condit fight. This is gonna be a great fight with Shields wanting that 1st win and Kampmann wanting to build momentum on his win vs Thaigo. Super pumped for this fight!! It's gonna be a crazy one!

(Referring to possible GSP fight) The one thing he does have is a world class guillotine choke, and he's just as dangerous off his back. If styles make fights it could be a great fight, but Kampman looks brilliant at 170 and I believe the winner will get GSP/Koscheck winner.

I don't see him out grappling Kos or Fitch either.

I think he'd be all over either of those guys. Fitch IMO is unimpressive off his back. Kos even more so. And as good of a wrestler as Kos is he doesn't have a great sprawl.

Did everyone forget the fight with Henderson that fast? I am by no means a Jake Shields fan but he earned my respect in that fight. He absolutely man handled Henderson who is an olympic level wrestler. Standing, yes Kampmann has a good chance but the second this fight touches that mat it's over.

Can someone please explain to me why Fitch is regarded as this MASSIVELY impressive grappler. The dude SUCKED at Purdue. He didn't post a winning record until his junior year. Even then. he only went 11-8. Not exactly stellar. I HATE Koscheck, but Fitch is nowhere near Koscheck's wrestling. I understand that Fitch has improved. He's got great MMA wrestling, I just think he's still behind those that had a much more lucrative collegiate career. We will never know how much better Koscheck is than Fitch because they won't fight.

Martin has a great ground game and very, very solid stand up at 170, with Sheilds's glaring disadvantage in the stand up game and superior to even wrestling game i see either Kampmann winning via KO or Sheilds winning a UD, depends on who is judging imo

shields is definitely a good addition to the roster, never really cared for his style of fighting (granted that he took it right to hendo so props for that). The talks of him being one of the only fighters to be able to beat GSP is imo quite foolish to me. I truly hope martin breaks him in his first UFC fight, i don't hate shields, i'm just kind of tired of people seeing him as god's given gift to MMA, don't get me wrong i reconize that he's a really good athelete and good fighter, I just don't think he's THAT good
