So says "Big Country", who also adds he didn't exactly get the fight by choice...not his choice, anyway. "Anybody that actually follows the sport who actually knows my style and knows what I can do doesn’t underestimate me. I may not be a Greek god, or what people think a fighter looks like, but I’m definitely a fighter. Dos Santos is the pinnacle of guys in the UFC. He’s the number one contender for sure in the heavyweight division. Nobody wants to fight him in the UFC, hence why I’m here fighting him. I pretty much got an email from Joe Silva asking if I wanted to…actually, not even asking me if I wanted to, but telling me that I was fighting Dos Santos next, and here I am."

Although I think Roy has improved a lot, and could get a title shot someday, I changed my mind and think Roy would have been better off fighting Ben, Russow, Gonzaga or Duffee. Jr is a big step up from Struve. Roy is lucky to be getting a # 1 contender fight, but it may be too fast. I have a feeling Roy will underestimate Jr. because he believes his own hype, more so than the other way around.

Roy has been in the fight game for a long time. JDS is probably right about where Roy is at in terms of their careers. I don't know why people are separating JDS from Roy as largely as they are. Roy might not have faced "the competition" JDS has faced. Which, to be honest, I'm not sure that Yvel, Cro Cop, and Gonzaga have shown that they are as great now as they once were. Werdum is a really good win, but Werdum is an ADCC champ, not a stand up warrior. Nelson might not have the names, but he's had to fend people people off who were gunning for his belt and he did it. Personally, I think the Arlovski stand-up was absolutely ridiculous and I think that Nelson won the fight against Rothwell.

Also, let's not forget that Cigano's lone loss came to a guy that did just lose to Sokoudjou

I have seen Roy fight a lot and I really don't think his chin can take what JDS is capable of dishing out....then again I am also really interested in seeing how JDS fights on the ground, so I may be in for a real treat.

Roy has big power, JDS is the more technical standup guy it appears and we haven't really seen his chin all that much, I think Roy has the edge on the ground though so if JDS is winning the standup battle (which I assume he will be) then there is always the option to try and take it to the ground

Roy clearly doesn't eat fruit, let's be real.

I'm rooting for Nelson for sure in this one but who knows really I can't pick this fight.
