As expected, Keith Jardine has landed on his feet. Less than a month after being released from the UFC following his TUF 11 Finale loss to Matt Hamill on June 19 in Las Vegas, "The Dean of Mean" has agreed to throw hands with another Octagon veteran when he takes on Trevor Prangley at Shark Fights 13 on Sept. 11 in Lubbock, Texas. Shark Fights is expected to make an official announcement regarding the September event in the coming days, including additional names signed for the pay-per-view telecast.

With a win here Keith should be well on his way to making it back to the UFC. Good luck to keith. No chin but tons of heart.

Nice fight for him. Close to home and everything.

Is it just me or does the name "Shark Fights" make a blatant attempt at stealing any credibility this promotion would otherwise have?

Agreed. Unless the YAMMA is being used and there is a mote full of sharks circling the it, they should probably change it to something a bit more professional sounding.

A little less insinuative.

good but somewhat dangerous fight for keith. trevor is a vet of the sport and can still put keith away(imo). but good luck to both on this one.

Dude, don't even get me started on mma org. names. Almost every single one sucks. Ultimate Fighting Championship sounds like a Japanese game show, and it is one of the better ones. I love the sport, but I think almost everything about the way the sport is marketed sucks and is about 6-10 years out of date. I don't need or like to hear some cheesy 2002ish nu-metal and see barbwire and tribals to get pumped for a card, and labeling everything "extreme", "xtreme", or "hardcore" makes me think of a lame 90's Mt. Dew commercial.

I think he's at least a couple wins away from the UFC, but he is a gamer and there is always the chance that he'll pop up as a late replacement.

I gotta spread the love but I totally feel you on this!! I think there is a lot of things that should be changed.....UFC will have to keep it's name forever though because it's so recognizable now....I'd like to see it promoted like a sports event on ESPN personally.

I think all 3 of us are on the same page with this one.
