Fedor Emelianenko is the hottest name on the MMA free agent market. The only problem is, the heavyweight still has one fight remaining on his current Strikeforce deal. Nonetheless, it hasn’t stopped M-1 Global figurehead Vadim Finkelchtein from laying all his Octagon cards on the table.
“I think yes. But not on the same terms they offered us before,” Finkelchtein told ProSport (via Fighters Only) of joining forces with the UFC.

Theirs no way Dana or anyone involved with the UFC will agree to that. Why should they co-brand when a guy the UFC cut just beat Fedor?
Don't get me wrong I'd love to see him in the UFC but as long as he's with M1 I doubt he'll ever set foot in there and Fedor and M1 just lost their biggest bargaining chip when he legitimately lost.

M-1 thinks the UFC will actually agree to co-brand.

If I'm Dana and the UFC I say sure Vadim we will co-brand meaning you can have Fedor wear an M-1 shirt to the damn cage. Otherwise go fight the rest of the B-class world. Not to mention he may get guaranteed money, but it will be drastically less than he would have gotten last time around. I hope they can make it happen, but I'm doubting it.

Vadim must have balls of steel. Laying out new demands after their "unbeatable" fighter just lost. At least wait a little before throwing out a new contract offer.

UFC will never agree to co-promote with M1. The idea is just crazy. The only possible way this would even be considered is if M1 gained a lot of steam and surpassed Zuffa as the dominant brand in MMA.
I don't see that happening any time soon.

We have one fight left on our contract, so if Strikeforce wants to extend it, they should listen to our opinion,”
Forget everything else for a minute. This statement alone is a huge problem. This is exactly why being Fedor's manager and promoter should be two different people/companies. It's a huge conflict of interest and apparently M1 is willing to take full advantage of the fact. Personally I would never ever do business with the individual that said this.

Also, it's funny that M1's new demands seem to be exactly what Zuffa agreed to previously...only problem is Zuffa will no longer be offering that.

"Maybe not a co-promotion (like we offered before), but at least co-branding" Would the NFL ever do this with the CFL probably not so why would the UFC do it? But they do have CFL Updates on the NFL network now

it is now time for Fedor to prove himself, he lost, if he wants to be considered the best he knows where the best are. he needs to come off the high horse and make a deal with the UFC. He CAN make it happen if he wants. so until he does im going to assume he is ducking the best fights out there.

I see they have come down on their demands a bit but I don't see the UFC agreeing to these terms now. They are basically asking for almost the same offer the UFC made last time and as much as it sucks Fedor has lost now. That makes M-1s bargaining chip not worth near what it was. This almost seams like a desperation move from M-1 or a tactic to get Strikeforce to keep their current contract active.
I found this part funny.
1. We would like to receive guaranteed payments. I know that if we agree for percents, they will cheat us.
How does he know they will cheat him. I haven't seen anyone complain about being cheated out of their % payments. Almost all the fighters that I know of that get a % seam very happy with it. So are they worried Fedor isn't near the drawing power as some others or they just worried the UFC will pull some of the same stuff M-1 has with other company's? Now don't get me wrong the UFC is a company and their main goal is to make money. I wouldn't trust them myself, but the statement itself is what seams very odd. Why even say "they will cheat us".

As a fan I hope this gets done. I can't believe all the people on here who are defending the UFC's monopolistic practices. Boxing cross promotes as well as other MMA orgs. People forget that Dana allowed Chuck to fight in the Pride Middleweight Grand Prix.
