Does any website have Overeem ranked #1 HW, let alone #1 p4p?

What the hell is Dana even talking about?

If my very recent memory is accurate, it's on episode 1 of The Best Of PRIDE FC on Spike, I watched it the other day. It's legit, Chuck did KO Overeem in PRIDE.

today, and considering chucks last 6 fights, and as long as no drug tests were done, id have to give it to overeem

Overeem has several questionable losses, and yes he got defeated by Shogun twice but that's not even the same guy. He's 50 pounds bigger, and Shogun only won those fights because he took advantage of Overeem's lack of ground defense. Overeem is a very good stand-up fighter, aside from Chuck who swings hammers, I don't recall him getting beat-up standing, and he possesses a lethal guillotine and has gotten better at getting back to his feet. He's a big threat to anybody until they get beyond side control.

I'm pretty sure the UFC has stringent drug testing policies though

They don't have policies. It's up to the state athletic commissions unless they're in a state or country with no regulatory body. If that's the case then UFC (namely Marc Ratner) oversees it and they use NSAC guidelines.

Thanks for the clarification sorry for my misrepresentation.

"this is one of the dumber things i have read on here and i have seen it several times now. not that i dont think ubereem is on drugs, but you clearly dont know what youre talking about. olympic style testing IS independent testing. the state athletic commissions require testing on a codified schedule, any additional testing done by any organization on any schedule other than the one laid out by the athletic commission is by definition "independent" testing. independent testing doesnt mean that strikeforce did all the testing themselves so they could lie about the results, it means that they had ADDITIONAL testing beyond what was required by the state athletic commission. strikeforce doesnt have their own drug testing lab or something "

Again I had a grave misconseption no malice intended thanks for the clarification. Dream announced that Overeem would be fighting Ricco on July 10 at Dream 15. His trainer has denied the claim and said his relationship with the promotion was unclear. One baseless comment was all. The Rodriguez fight was posted on the playground previously I never saw a retraction.

The "Chuck beat him in '03" is counter-productive for Dana's cause anyway.

He must have forgotten that less than two months later Anderson Silva got triangled by Takase... does that mean Anderson isn't legit p4p?

What happened in MMA 7 years ago only matters to the history books.

man you hit the nail on the head. IMO overeem and chuck are 2 different generations of fighters. the fact that overeem fought chuck when he was like 23 yrs old is actually y very impressive cause chuck was in his prime. overeem's an animal and i think hes a legit threat to any HW out there. i dont think anyone could take a solid knee from overeem plus hes showed some very impressive GnP and subs. dana needs to get overeem into the UFC stat.

Let's not forget the Flying Scissor Heel Hook by Ryo Chonan who went 1-3 in the UFC.

Bingo.
What on earth is wrong with Dana?
Does he think the fans are really as gullible and naive as he thinks?

He also lost to Shogun. Surprised Dana didn't mention that considering Shogun is the current champ.

FYI I'm not agreeing with Dana. Just pointing out that his absurd argument would have been slightly less ridiculous if he'd used Shogun instead of chuck.

Does anyone else find it ironic that we've found ways to make Dana's absurd arguments less ridiculous than they are? It's sort of become second nature.

Yes even though Overeem had him hurt Chuck did beat him senseless.
Overeem's just another over-rated fighter that has all the skills he needs and is a brilliant fighter... but p4p best?
Nowhere close.
