The UFC has parted ways with veteran David Loiseau following his UFC 115 loss to Mario Mirando earlier this month. Loiseau's agent Ken Pavia confirmed the news with MMA Fighting Thursday.
This marks the third time since 2006 that Loiseau has been let go from the organization.
Pavia said that Loiseau has not decided whether or not he will retire from MMA, but the 10-year veteran will take some time off to regroup and think about his future options.

I doubt it. I'm only guessing but be probably is a draw in Canada and makes a decent check in smaller shows up there but we won't ever see him in the octogon agian.

I don't doubt it. I guess that comment was basically what I would probably do. I would not get punched in the face for some 2nd rate paydays unless I was on the way up. On the way down. . . . no thanks.

Depends on if you need to pay your bills or not I guess.

This is why I am not a fighter.
EDIT: I am recently laid off, but come to think of it there were days that I would have preferred a punch in the face to doing my job.

Ya, he's almost definitely done in the UFC. But he might have no better source of income than fighting, in which case retirement makes no sense. Dan Severn: 93-16-7 MMA Record. I believe 13 of those fights were in the UFC. 1 in Pride? I think he's a perfect example of why you would keep fighting even though you were done at the top level.

The Crow's best days seem to be behind him at this point but he's still a draw up here and Canada. Yes he's been overwhelmed in his last couple but when he's ON, the guys a machine!

I thought performing donkey shows in Mexico paid pretty well, Ryan?

Cant say I'm shocked. He just isn't the same fighter he was a few years ago. It seams like he just lost something after the Franklin fight.

Not nearly as well as you might imagine. I've got overhead. Trips to the doctor, trips to the vet, tons of lube, and mouthwash. It's not easy.

So, in some senses it IS like taking a punch to the face?

It is actually quite similar.

So *that* is where the term 'donkey punch' came from...
