CHICAGO, Ill. (June 23, 2010) - Jessica Aguilar, the American Top Team product and No. 7 flyweight in the world is the latest and final addition to Bellator Fighting Championships' Season 3 Women's Tournament.
Aguilar, a rising star in women's MMA, brings an impressive 8-4 professional record to the tournament, which begins this August. In her latest showing just three weeks ago, Aguilar knocked out Catia Vitoria four minutes into the first round.
Aguilar is the eighth and final fighter to be added to the tournament, and all eight are ranked among the world's 10 best in their respective weight classes. The others are Japanese MMA sensation Megumi Fujii - widely regarded as the No. 1 pound-for-pound female fighter in the world - 11-1 British tae-kwon-do black belt Rosi Sexton, 12-5 Seattle submission artist Lisa Ward, 7-0 Southern California striker Jessica Pene, 8-4 New Mexico-based submission specialist Angela Magana , 5-1 Las Vegas-based powerhouse Lynn Alvarez, and 9-0 Irish sensation Aisling Daly.

Cyborg is such a dominant female that it seems like everyone else is just way below her level.

Back it up with an opinion, please. Intentionally rude comments don't fly around here.

Is there anyone, anywhere, who would even be willing to bet money against Cyborg in a fight? I don't think so.

At this point, I'd agree. There's a reason she's favored @ -2000 for her fight this weekend.

Fujii is 20-0 and considered by many to be better p4p than Cyborg.
Also, Cyborg is 145lb. This tourney is for 115lb. Of course she could destroy these girls in a fight, but just because Anderson Silva could kick the living crap out of Frank Edgar doesn't mean that 155lb. isn't worth watching.
This is just about as good as 115lb. tourney could be (minus Sexton who got starched tonight) and I hope it goes well and people start recognizing that a lot of the talent in women's mma is in the smaller weights.

Agreed wholeheartedly. Most people don't even realize Strikeforce has two women's champions in two different divisions, and that there's multiple women's divisions just like in men's MMA (and that the division Cyborg competes in is easily the weakest of them all, despite her status as one of the best women in fighting). Fujii would get murdered by Gina Carano and Erin Toughill, but I don't anybody would rank her below either.
Bellator guaranteed Sexton a spot in the tournament when she signed her contract, but in no way does she deserve one. I'm sure Zoila Frausto will be the first person they call should Sexton or any other fighter suffer an injury during the season.
