The Edmonton Combative Sports Director today announced the medical suspensions from WEC 49. Everyone who fought on the card was suspended but the vast majority received only 7 or 14 day suspensions for precautionary reasons. 7 fighters got 21 or 30 days with 2 fighters-Jamie Varner & Kamal Shalours-suspended indefinitely and must be cleared by doctors to return.

I had no doubt Varner and Shalorus would be suspended indefinitely. That fight was absurd.

Haha no doubt man. It just gives women a real appreciation for the pain of a kick in the dick when a guy has a broken foot, broken hand, and still reacts to the pain of the nut kick worse.

this whole event slipped passed me somehow.
i've never missed a wec since VS. starting showing them. can't believe i missed this. doesn't look like it's airing again anytime soon either.

they aired it again on tiesday night, i havent seen when it airs beyond then, but vs reruns wec events pretty damn often so you shouldnt have to wait long to see it, it was a great card.

i still don't get how i missed it. I was watching fights on Saturday...i think they were new/live but it wasn't WEC. Bellator, maybe? I can't remember and it's really bothering me. There were no alcohol or drugs involved although i was out in the hot sun on a fishing boat most of the day.
WEC is running hour long shows of some sort several times this week but i don't think it's WEC 49.
