Trainer Lloyd Irvin worked with "The Ultimate Fighter 11" contestant Kris McCray for about two months and cornered him against Court McGee this past Saturday at the show's live finale. Although McCray came up short against McGee, Irvin said it's just a matter of time before the durable fighter reaches his potential. Irvin, who's worked with UFC veterans Brandon Vera and Phil Davis, met McCray through an affiliate school, Gold Medal Grappling, and hosted the fighter after his six-week stint on the Spike TV reality show. The trainer said McCray's camp was on point. Saturday's result may have just been a case of inexperience.

It's hard to not like McCray. He seems like the kind of guy that would be fun to hang out with. I'll be pulling for him.

Master Lloyd's a really good trainer as well, a lot of the guys who have been winning in UWC the last few events have come from his academy in Maryland. I know he'll bounce back and I'm still behind McCray all the way. SAVAGE!!

I didn't see anything to make me think McCray will ever accomplish much in the UFC. I'd guess that he'll get another fight, lose, and never be seen again.

I agree...I have not been impressed with him to the point of thinking he can make a significant dent in the UFC...

I don't mind McCray, I just didn't think he could beat McGee. I knew McGee would be stylistically too much for him. McGee seemed to evolve every show, whereas, McCray seemed to remain basically the same fight. If McCray begins to evolve like McGee I cannot see why he wouldn't become relevant in the UFC. He's the poor man's Dan Hardy, mohawk and all. I like Savage.

I wasn't impressed by McCray. Being a nice guy doesn't mean you should be in the UFC. IMO he isn't world class in any area of the game.
