Former welterweight number one contender Jon Fitch would rather sacrifice his title aspirations than have to fight friend and American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) team mate Josh Koscheck

I remember Fitch saying he would only fight Kos if it were for the title. Now he wants to move to MW??? The Lauzon brothers will fight each other but no AKA bros?

Also I agree with you big IP, mma is a sport and a profession. You don't have to hate someone or have any ill will toward them to fight them. It shouldn't matter if its a friend, team mate, or family member. Cro Cop said it best in his post fight interview when he can fight someone he likes and it doesn't matter.

yeah well in case you havent noticed mma is mental and cro cop is not every fighter. He's not even two fighters. If I were to fight a friend I probably wouldn't feel bad, and would probably be more violent to end it early, but if you look at it that way its still not an accurate picture of how i would fight because it changed me.
you see. So how about people stop bitching because both kos and fitch will continue to fight the elite regardless. It's not like they are ducking eachother. If someone had such intimate knowlege of how you fight and your mentality and you had the same knowlege of them, a lot of times those fights are shitty anyway because they negate action.
So in short quit bitching unless you have an insight that has not been presented. They are professionals and everything around them is then speculative.

and forgot to mention, probably has a much better shot at beating Anderson than mediocre Chael Sonnen.

I'm a huge Fitch fan and will always support him. But, this is the one thing I have never understood. This is your job and profession. I would fight a friend if it was absolutely necessary IE title fight or #1 contender match.

I remembering hearing that as well.
Either way, I think Fitch stays at 170.. But hoping to see him at 185.. Lots of good fights for him there.

I can't stand this "I won't fight my friend" thing. It's no secret, I've always hated this.

I'm with Seanfu on this one.
It's up to those guys. I'm all for free will. If they want to fight then let them. If they don't, then don't force them to. Who the hell is anybody to tell you to fight your friend? Maybe you all view it differently but just because you do doesn't mean they have to.
I mean honestly... if you feel that way then why don't you move to North Korea where the Government employs you and tells you everything you can and can't do? Seems to be working well for them

I'm not telling them they need to fight. I just think that this whole "I'm not fighting anyone in my camp" thing is getting out of hand. Next thing you know, ****'s gonna start happening where camps create super-camps. AKA will merge with ATT. Okay, I'm being a little hyperbolic but it's honestly something that would not shock me in the least if it happened.

For the teammates not fighting each other to me it's their choice. Unless Dana puts that in their contracts then I say if they want to suffer the ramifications it will have on their career then so be it. i'm a 100% Dana White supporter but if Fitch is willing to do this....I mean what are you going to do?
It's easy to put myself in his shoes and say "oh man he should just fight his teammate" but I've never done this before and I have wrestled and I wouldn't have wanted to wrestle anyone on my wrestling team, but hey thats just my two cents.
