UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture and Strikeforce heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko will be featured on the cover of "EA Sports MMA," officials today announced.

Additionally, officials announced an Oct. 19 release date for the videogame title.

"EA Sports MMA," which goes head-to-head with THQ's award-winning and bestselling "UFC Undisputed" franchise, will be available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.

Dozens of fighters – mostly from Strikeforce and DREAM – recently have been announced for "EA Sports MMA." Most of the UFC's roster is featured in THQ's rival "UFC Undisputed" franchise, which sold 3.5 million units with its 2009 debut and recently released its 2010 version.

I really hope this product does better than the UFC's. I don't like how Dana strong armed a lot of fighters and prevented them from being in this game.

Actually, it's roughly 50 fighters.

Nevermind that. I thought this was cool.

The game will also feature 'Live Broadcasts' that can be viewed from PC or consoles. The Player will be able to upload hype videos, which will help to increase popularity. Real life prizes will be given out to a certain level

I would be happy with a decent sub system, I can get them on The UFC game But it's so hard I don't see the point.

i won't pass judgment before i actually play the game. one thing i havent done yet though is buy the new ufc game. was hooked on the 2009 for a good few months playing online and whatnot, but the reviews i read and the comments i heard kinda made me reluctant in buying the 2010 one. Yes I know, self contradictory, BUT i will buy the game, it's just not a priority for the moment.

UFC 2010 was a disappointment for me. There were a lot of improvements but there were also plenty of new problems and bugs.

I'll be looking forward to trying this game out.

I wonder how much it pisses Dana off that Randy is on the cover. That's a smart move by EA. Use a prominent UFC fighter to sell your game. People that don't know much about MMA will see Randy and buy it thinking there's fighters like Chuck, Tito, etc..man, I'd love to see the look on their face when they sit down to play this game and say "where the f*ck are GSP and BJ, and who the f*ck are Hidehiko Yoshida and Lyle Beerbohm!?'

That part has may very pumped.
The official site had some crazy stuff showcasing the live broadcast and King Mo's official EA bout was tonight on the site.

Here's a link to EA's E3 MMA segment.
The training centers look amazing for the game as well. If you train in Brazil it looks like Brazil. Thailand looks like Thailand,Etc.
