A Marcus Davis versus Luke Cummo fight is on the table for UCF 72 in Ireland June 16. Davis, nicknamed "The Irish Hand Grenade", told me, "Yeah, I'm fighting in Ireland," but wouldn't confirm his opponent.

Both TUF 2 alum are coming off stoppages at UFC 69 in Houston. Davis won his third consecutive UFC scrap by submitting Pete Spratt by Achilles lock in the second round. Cummo knocked out TUF 3 finalist Josh Haynes in the second round.

On TUF 2, both Davis and Cummo were eliminated by eventual winner, Joe Stevenson. Davis was submitted in the first round on episode four. Cummo lost a unanimous decision in the finale.

A request for comment from Luke Cummo is yet to be answered.

Wow, I wish this fight happens. I've always been a Marcus Davis fan since seeing him on TUF because of his crisp boxing skills. Cummo is a fighter who will stand in front of Davis and trade. This would be a really good standup fight.

I'd predict Davis by TKO in round two. Cummo is good on the feet, too but Davis' stand up is "cleaner."

The cleaner standup might hurt him against a somewhat unorthodox fighter like Cummo. Davis' angles might be more predictable. Should be a good fight.

Yeah, you bring up a good point. Since Davis is a former boxer he'll box like a boxer, which might give Cummo an edge because he kind of knows what to expect. Where punches will be coming from, Davis might have more of a "traditional" boxing style, so on.

In the end, I still think Davis will outstrike Cummo. Davis seems to be a smart fighter and I think he'll kind of figure Cummo out by the second round and TKO or KO him.

Marcus will kill Luke in the stand up and his grappling has improved 500% since the show. Marcus by KO in the 2nd round.

Man if that's the fight it's a hard one to call. I like both fighters, and would expect a war out of this one, with both fighters so close in terms of standup and ground.

I hope it is a hot event and anyone that wants to bet on Cummo let me know so i can clean up on that fight. I train with Marcus and his stand up is way better that Cummos. Marcus had to train with the heavyweights on TUF2 because he was killing the Welterweights. I think Cummo is overrated.
