Despite the stellar sales of its predecessor, THQ and Yuke's' UFC Undisputed 2010 is selling "slower than anticipated," even as UFC pay-per-view television events are performing well, according to Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian.

In a research note released today, Sebastian said the game is "tracking below our expectations at retail," and pointed out that online retailer Amazon discounted the game $20 to $39 after only a week on sale.

So, is it 1 unit below expectations or 500k units? Throw me a bone.

The only number I'm worried about is that $39 pricetag @ Amazon. I may hop on that! I've yet to get my copy.

This is surprising. Maybe people are waiting for EA MMA because it's a more well known company? The game is way better than last years and there was tons of advertising. Maybe people are boycotting because of the online codes? IDK, but this is a shocker.

By the way...I just went to Amazon.com to check out the actual price. $54 for the PS3 version when I added it to my "cart".

the actual game itself is awesome. However, the online part of the game is boderline unplayable. Between DLC update problems, online code problems, serious lag, super CAFs, dropped matches, etc. the game suffers greatly. I'd advise anyone whos looking to buy this game to play online to rent it first & see where your anger levels are before buying it.

It said that it was discounted down to $39...but that still doesn't do anything to answer my question.

You can get the PS3 version for 40 and some change...you just have to look at the other sellers.

Online is where I think EA will mop the floor with THQ.

i think it's noticeably better than last year. still not sure an annual release will work as well with a sport that doesn't run in seasons.

I told myself I'd wait til at least the 3rd version to buy the game. Any time a new franchise comes out it seems like it takes them a couple of years to work the kinks out. From the limited exposure I have it seems like the game is fun but still gives me that "I'd get sick of this in a day or two" feeling

That's been the case with every fighting game I've ever owned. Maybe not a day, but it never takes long for me to get sick of it.
