Cyrille Diabate sat in the UFC media center and got instant feedback on his performance as the big-screen TV replayed his UFC 114 fight with Luiz Cane.
Diabate, who hails from Paris, sat stone-faced as the fight played out, and he didn't say much when it was over.
Diabate survived a flash knockout in the fight's opening moments but managed to recover and light up the Brazilian with a flurry of punches that won him a first-round TKO.

1 - I hope Cane doesn't get cut after losing to Diabate.
2- I've never seen anyone look as calm in their UFC debut as Cyrille did on Saturday. You could see the confidence in his body language. Great win for him.

I knew Diabate was a great striker but I was really impressed with his accuracy against Cane. The finishing combo was sick. Too bad I picked Cane to take it to the ground and get a sub.

Great showing by Diabate. Besides him getting knocked down his performance was great and I was extremely impressed with his ability to recover. Those combinations were so smooth

Diabate needs to keep his hands up more! He got away with it with Cane....but most likely won't against more powerful strikers.

At least he's a realist. He looked good but you can't make those mistakes (low hands -----> getting dropped) against top competition.

He needs to work a bit on his defense, but his offensive technique was excellent.

He's been getting away with it for years. He uses his height and reach to stay away from his opponent's hands. When the light heavyweight champ fought Cyrille Diabate, he too opted to take the fight down.
Diabate is one of the best strikers at LHW, but I thought that Cane was going to be able to beat him on the floor. I guess I did some overestimating/underestimating in my picks.

I hear ya....I originally had Diabate and then switched last minute to Cane...I totally underestimated Cyrille's ability.
