Rampage got rocked in the fight too, and he's been knocked out 3 times as many times as Rashad. Will he get a book too?

I just don't understand why Rampage didn't go for broke in the 3rd?? He looked like he didn't want to win....very frustrating

like he said he "put all his eggs in one basket" he almost finished Rashad but Rashad got out the way of the GnP and after that Rampage was just too tired to attack anymore

actually, theyve been knocked out an equal amount of times.

Techincal knock outs are a different story entirely. Ha! you got to love semantics.

My problem with this topic is that I can't properly articulate why I think this about Rashad. He just has a look when he gets rocked. I guess the best way to state it is that it's like poker. Rashad has a "tell" when he's on the verge of being blanked. Machida saw it and went for the kill. Rampage and Silva just couldn't do it because they were gassed. Rashad will have that look when he fights Rua and Rua will finish him.

I know what you're talking about and it's not that unusual to be honest. You gotta remember Rashad is a wrestler. He's not used to taking shots in fights. Contrary to what many people may believe you do learn "how to get hit" after years and years of fights. I know I'm nowhere near there yet, but there are certain guys who most definitely are. It's a skill that is developed and Rashad may just not have it yet.

You never really see this kind of thing in boxing because by the time guys are main event status or at least televised they've usually had 20 or 30 amateur boxing matches on top of the 30 pro bouts they've had. They're well versed on taking a shot. In MMA it's a bit different because a lot of these guys, especially those who are used to doing their business on the ground, aren't used to getting popped on the feet.

Rampage got hit and stumbled but stayed composed, rashad in the fight hit the floor went limp for a second and was almost put out. Rampage was only Ko'ed once and TKo'ed twice and all 3 times he took 20-30 vicious knees

I hope we don't have another Greg Jackson fighter holding a belt. Playing it safe will win you fights (GSP) but it's boring has hell to watch, especially if they don't try to finish the fight with submission attempts or gnp.

I really wanted Rampage to win this fight, but had my doubts due to his long layoff period. Rashad's wrestling was the deciding factor in this fight.

If Dong Hyun Kim is Captain Lay and Pray,Rashad was Captain Cage and Pray . I was shocked by how easily he was able to hold Rampage against that cage. To think, I was saying Rampage's power would be the difference. Clearly, it was Rashad's.

If Dong Hyun Kim is Captain Lay and Pray, Rashad was Captain Wall and Stall.
While I did not like the gameplan Rashad applied (because I wanted Rampage to KO him) I believe the Wall and Stall title belong to Randy Couture.

Yes, this is what I am talking about. I love that people can say what I am thinking but I can't. Makes me feel retarded.

Randy is more effective up against the cage.

I want to thank everyone for posting and voting, the outcome of the vote was pretty much what I predicted and reflects my own personal view. That just goes to show how very important a good gameplan is .

Like him or not, Rashad is a smart fighter and a smart fighter always has a good shot. Dont completely count him out against Shogun, he has a small chance, wouldnt it be a huge upset?
