White told UFC fans today that he's still interested in Diaz, the older brother of current UFC lightweight Nate Diaz, just hours before the brash welterweight headlines DREAM.14 in Japan against Hayato Sakurai.

"I like Nick Diaz, and I've talked to Nick Diaz many times about coming back to the UFC," White said during a keynote speech at UFC Fan Expo 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.

But there are conditions to White's interest – to say nothing of the Strikeforce contract Diaz currently holds.

"The problem with Nick Diaz is that he won't even play the game this much," White said. "You can't be crazy all the time."

Good, bring him over, give him GSP, let him get throttled, and then send him back to Strikeforce a humbler man.

Totally agree....though before he fights GSP, I would like him to fight Alves!

I can see it happening only because I think people get to Diaz, always asking him why he doesn't fight this guy or that and the reason is always the same; because they fight for The UFC and he doesn't. Pretty soon he will realize that the UFC has WW and LHW Divs on lock, that if he wants to fight the best at WW he will need to do it inside of the Octagon. Now if he wants to fight at LW then he can still have a whole lot of high calibur fights within Dream and Strikeforce, but not so much at WW.

In all honesty I think he would get beat by all the good wrestlers at 170. I would rather see him fight at 185, which is more of a stand-up division.

Diaz has excellent submissions, and I think he'd probably stay around 7-8 in the ufc.

Would love to see Diaz back in the UFC. No matter if he wins or loses he is absolutely awesome.

Diaz is a great fighter so Dana should be interested. I'm sure he could hang with most of the best at WW in the UFC and even if he lost decisions to the wrestlers he'd be an excellent addition to the roster.

As much as I don't think he's top 5 material I'd still like to see him in the Octagon, too. I think he's probably top 10 without a doubt. Wouldn't mind seeing him eat a slice of humble pie but I also wouldn't mind seeing him wreck some guys like I'm sure he can.

kind of interesting after the strikeforce brawl and the daley incident. I mean Shields, sure. He didn't really do anything in the fight, but Nick? Pretty sure he was one of the dudes throwing kicks at mayhem's head.
