In an appearance on this week's episode of Pro MMA Radio ahead of Saturday's UFC 114, Rashad Evans told host Larry Pepe earlier this week that the days of caring about what are people thought of him are long gone. Rashad also said he's 'gotta get back to doing me.' That line could mean several things. But one of the first things that comes to mind is his fighting style. It sounds like he doesn't exactly plan on standing and trading with Jackson, no matter how bad he wants to knock him out.

LOL wow the fight hasn't even started yet and it's already obvious something is up in Rashad's head.

Somebody said something about one of these guys being a fighter and the other one being a guy who fights. Pretty sure it's obvious which of the two is which.

I'll be cheering for the man who has never endangered people's lives with a giant truck.

I used to be a big time Rashad hater, but is gained a lot of respect for him after watching him coach on TUF and lost what little respect i had left for Rampage so i will also be rooting for Rashad........

If Rampage loses, I hope he doesn't go off the deep end like he did in his fight against Forrest.

This means to me that Rashad is going to try and wrestle. bad idea. I think if he went in striking he could be quicker and work for a UD, and possibly a TKO (though I find that less likely).

Now he's going to tire himself out trying to take Page down and get caught in between.

I'm rooting for Rashad but really don't care either way. Just hoping for a great fight, the hype has been awesome.

It's true, he should do him. He should also continue to mix it up (takedowns and strikes) in the future. For this fight Rashad s game plan will be only gnp imo

IMO Rashad will do well in takedowns, I know Rampage is strong, but so is Rashad and his speed seems to be increasing add that to his already great takedowns could spell success for Evans. I can see Rashad pulling a page out of GSP's book and play it safe for this fight, I think Rashad will stay calm and collective to do what he needs to do to win. Even though the war of words wont stop if this happens, but when a title shot is on the line you gotta do whatcha gotta do to get there.

I still dont think rashad is going to have success looking for takedowns. He'll just tire himself out late in the fight.

I disagree respectfully. Evans will be able to get Rampage on the ground, I am just unsure how effective his game plan will be when he is able to get Rampage on the ground. Jackson is so strong, he maybe able to make Evans' wrestling ability be null-in-void.

Cause Rampage is an overall stronger man than Evans, IMO.

I personally feel all the talk about Rashad winning is hinged on fact that many assume Rampage is going to be out of shape. Severely. So much so that Rampage wont be able to keep up with Rashad's pace, and will eventually tire.
But no one seems to be factoring in that Rashad is a slow starter, has never really been known to push the pace in any of his fights, and is usually sluggish by the time the third round rolls around.
Whereas Rampage has proven that he has the cardio to fight for 5 rounds even when hes seemingly out of shape(forrest).

I just can not see Rashad winning a decision.

If I were a professional fighter, I would rather be a hated winner than a loved loser.
