A lot of competitors can talk a good game, but the true test of a fighter is how he performs in the ring. We have heard a lot about EA Sports MMA, from the developer’s goals when crafting the game to detailed descriptions about the controls, but it wasn’t until yesterday at the EA3 event that we were able to take the Xbox 360 controller and step into the ring. Read on for our impressions of how the controls feel, as well as more details on how submissions are handled (hint: frantic button mashers need not apply).

I like that you can fight in a ton of different venues.

I love how if you fight in different countries, you will fight under their rules.
That is freaking awesome.
The submission system seems at least more inspired than Undisputed.
I am now more officaly excited for this game.

Bring it to Wii and I will be excited. Graphics are the only set back, but damn that would be a fun game to play

I'll admit, I wasn't sure about this game, now I can't wait. These features look awesome.

i was excited about this game when they announced it. I'm even skipping ufc 2010 for this game. I love the fact that they even added a ring to the game. I think i might be fighting over in Japan most of the time due to the rules.

Knees to a grounded opponent FTW

I thought the game looked great, especially at this early stage of development. The punches looked a little slow, especially on the ground, but it's months away from release and we were watching Rogers vs Monsoon.

It uses the FNR4 engine though (I hated that game) and has a lot of the same inspirations.

I'll be buying this and Undisputed 2010, I think.

Game looks like it's really taking shape now. I agree with bjj about the striking but the two going at it don't have the fastest hands in mma. I'll wait to hear reviews before purchasing. Not getting my hopes up quite yet.

So if it this game is supposed to be accurate, does that mean that you can only fight with Fedor once every 8 months and that fight cannot be against Overeem . Just kidding, can't wait to finally see that fight, even if it's simulated.

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the playground is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no props, and may the mods have mercy on your soul.
