Bellator Fighting Championships officials were pleased with the ratings earned by the promotion's Bellator 13 card, the debut event for the group's second season.

They're likely downright giddy over the latest numbers from the company's FOX Sports Net broadcasts.

Bellator officials today announced that the ratings for the May 6 Bellator 17 event were up 184 percent from the season-two debut four weeks prior.

Bellator 17, which took place at Boston's Wang Theatre, featured Eddie Alvarez's "super fight" win over Josh Neer and Pat Curran's stunning decision win over lightweight tournament favorite Roger Huerta.

I do like Strikeforce though b/c they have two of my favorite fighters in Fedor and Cris Cyborg. However, Bellator has really been getting me pumped up for Thursday nights. Every single event they have put on this season has been exciting. I really wish they would have a set time though instead of airing one week at 11 pm and the next at 7.

I thought it was pretty cool how jimmy showed the viewers how to do some submissions on the last event.
