I think he deserves it, just like you are nearly deserving to be cut from the PG for calling Kos a "lil bitch"....fighter bashing is against the rules bro, we are all heated and it's controversial sure....but watch your lingo....the Mods aren't all forgiving.

Cut him for sure. Examples must be made, otherwise you're going to have guys spitting in each others faces soon and getting away with it.

If you step back and take an unbiased approach to the situation, you may see it differently.

OK, read the rules. You can't fighter bash and call someone a little bitch here, even Kos. This an official warning.

totally justified.
He should also have his license suspended for some amount of time and be fined by the athletic commission, and I'm sure that that's exactly what will happen.

my thoughts exactly. I'll admit i enjoyed it, but he deserves to be cut.
at the end of the day you have to ask yourself "was it worth it?"

dropping from the ufc was a business decision. but there should be some other punishment. fine, suspension whatever. what daley did was ridiculous. at least in strikeforce there is good reason for after fight antics lol. but all kidding aside this was worse then that. he straight sucker punched his opponent in the face after the fight was over for no apparent reason other then losing. i bet strikeforce will pick daley up tho and im sure he will sign but especially cause shields might be going to the ufc lol.

He will, dare I say it, DEFINITELY be back. We all know how good Dana is at keeping his word (see Jesse Taylor, Tito Ortiz, UFC 115, etc.).

I agree, if Daley makes an effort to kiss some ass and makes amends, I think Dana will cool off significantly like he usually does when he isn't caught up in the moment.

Daley acted like a child and deserved to be cut, regardless of what Koscheck did or said. That kinda stuff should have no part of any sport, you lose eat crow and take it like a man. It's already being compared to the Grant/Bulter incident but it was nowhere near as bad, that said it goes to show what could have happened.
As for Dana's life long ban take it for what it's worth if Daley can improve get some wins behind him and not act like a tool he'll be back, Also I think a big part of it came from Dana's diccussion with Daley right after the fight Dana likes to be the overlord and if you don't bow down to him he takes offence by many account's Daley was still sore about the whole situation and Dana didn't like his attitude.
One thing I found funny was how Dana dismissed Daley for basically being hot headed and childish something Dana is renowned for lol.

I think there was a similar situation with Mike Kyle a few years back and if I recall he got quite a lengthy suspension.
Moreover, I agree with the majority of whats been said. I dont care if Kos was acting like an ass or how frustrated Daley was. No excuse, and should be no tolerance. Dana made the right call.
Im just glad Shogun put on such a great performance to wash the taste of that incident out of my mouth.

Adios Paul Daley. . . there is no room for that kind of garbage in MMA or anywhere else for that matter. I have zero respect for a cheap shot artist like that. . . . I personally hope Dana doesn't back off of his threat of a lifetime ban. He deserves to be gone, and there is no reason he should be coming back.
