LOS ANGELES – If things don't go Ricardo Mayorga's way on May 15, his MMA career could be over before it ever really starts.

Mayorga, who faces Din Thomas in a 160-pound catchweight main event at "Shine Fights: Worlds Collide" on Saturday, May 15, said he'll retire from MMA if he loses – or even if he wins by decision.

If he wins as he predicts – a knockout in the first minute of the first round – he'll call out boxing kingpin Floyd Mayweather.

Wouldn't be at all suprised iff he quits MMA before the bout even takes place. I"m still not holding my breath that this fight even happens.

"Everybody that trains out of ATT is a several-time champion, and [Din] has never been a champion. He's got a little pre-kindergarten belt

I just looked at the ATT roster and I didn't see any several time champs.

I really hope this fight happens and Din Subs this guy in the first minute of the first round.

I love Ricardo Mayorga the boxer. But as an MMA fighter, I think he's more of a mouth and a flake.

As a boxer, Mayorga has fought everyone within the welter division, EVERYONE, but saying that he's gonna retire before his first ever MMA match is a little bit of smoke-blowin' in my opinion.

Din is a salty old vet and I believe he will win fairly easily by sub in the first round and it would be even better if he put the GnP on him for a tko. WAR DIN

While they may not have a roster of MMA champions, the people instructing at ATT sport a litany of titles. Definitely a top-tier camp.

I hope Din Thomas isn't proud enough to forget that he'd win a ground battle with Mayorga 100 out of 100 times.

Mayorga's a wild dude. I'm a fan of his. He really knows how to hype up a fight and get his opponent pissed of before the fight. I think he's probably the best at talking smack before the fight actually happens.

I know for a fact Din will win this fight. And I know for a fact Mayorga is going to give Din his props after the fight.

In my opinion Mayorga could have been the next Roberto Duran, if he actually had the dedication.

here's to a great fight

I had to look up the name myself.

And yes, I am aware ATT is a good camp. I was just stating that Mayorga was technically wrong in his statement.

While Thomas isn't the best he certainly isn't a nobody. If this fight goes to the ground Mayorga is finished. Mayorga's only chance is to KO Thomas before it goes to the ground. Good luck. You never know though. MMA fights start on their feet...so there is that chance that Mayorga can hit him. Thomas needs to get this fight right to the ground. I am not a fan of trash talking at all. I think calling Din a "nobody" is ridiculous and completely disrespectful. As a Martial Artist respect means a lot to me. Imo if you trash talk...you are not a martial artist. I don't care how great your techniques are, how long you have been training or if you come from whatever school. I can't stand when MMA fighters trash talk....and it bothers me even more when the trash talking is coming from new "converts". I wonder if Mayorga will think Thomas is a nobody when he is getting choked out...eyes buggin', can't breath and the lights are dimming. He will be tapping like crazy. I wouldn't count Mayorga out though. All it takes is one punch. Bingo. Lights out. If Mayorga were to win it...it will be in the first 30 seconds or so.

What is up with everyone saying "I'll quit if I lose?" Pellegrino said the same thing.
