Joe Doerksen will step in on short notice to face Tom Lawlor in a middleweight matchup at the top of UFC 113's non-televised card.

Sources close to the event today confirmed the change to MMAjunkie.com and said Lawlor's original opponent, Tim Credeur, has been forced to withdraw from the fight due to an undisclosed injury.

UFC 113 takes place May 8 at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and features a light heavyweight title rematch between current champ Lyoto Machida and challenger Mauricio "Shogun" Rua.

This sucks. I was looking forward to this fight almost as much as Shogun/Machida. Not to bash Joe, but there wasnt anyone else available. I geuss feeding Tom Joe is just another notch in his belt and a way to build him up?

I agree. I was wondering the same thing. I'm sure they could have found someone else but i'm not counting Joe out. He has experience and is on a 5 fight win streak. He has impressed me in a lot of his fights. I haven't seen him fight for a while though so i'm interested to see if he is still the same fighter or if he has changed anything up.

Dang...he (Doerksen) just fought 4 days ago @ KOTC and barely won a decision over Chad Herrick. I'm surprised no suspension was issued.

I'm glad this actually happened. I like Creduer and I didn't want to see him suffer another loss.

Agreed, much easier pick now but as for the worst record in UFC. I think Elvis Sinosic still might hold that title. Not counting some of the early UFC's but i'm pretty sure he is the only guy that ufc ever brought back with a losing mma record.
