Current Strikeforce and former UFC fighter Mike Whitehead is wanted on warrants relating to sexual assault and drug charges, Las Vegas' KLAS TV 8 reported late Monday night.

Las Vegas police officials were not available for comment on the charges Whitehead is allegedly facing when MMA Fighting tried to reach them early Tuesday morning, but according to the KLAS report, police arrived at his home to investigate the alleged sexual assault and discovered a marijuana growing operation.

I always have to laugh at law enforcement's "estimated value" of the drugs they seize.

It was probably like a half a dozen plants or something, they make it sound like he had 10 hectares of weed growing in his in-door farm.

Kind of shocked, I expected that from a Junie Browning or War Machine....not Mike Whitehead!

I remember the last big grow op they busted around here, approx. 1.3 million dollars worth, it was like, 120 plants of sh!tty chinese weed, about 18k worth IF it was full yield, probably closer to 10 grand at best.

I'm sure Las Vegas police accounted for the Nevada stiff penalty for weed in their "estimated" value. Next thing you know they are gonna say he had a pound of weed.

It's odd that everyone is only commenting on the weed and not that sexual assault. Talk about messed up. Wow.

BMF, I am always weary to make comments regarding sexual assault when it comes to athletes. I wait for all the facts I'm going to get to surface before I start my tirade. Too many times it's been women seeking money who just did something dumb and then cried rape. See the Duke Lacrosse team. Other times it has been validated in a court of law, see Mike Tyson. Having known many a rape victim and having had someone who regretted ******* me cry rape (only to have her story disproven by the video of us doing it) I can appreciate both sides. If/when these allegations are validated and Whitehead is convicted I will have my comments about sexual assault. Until then I feel most comfortable cracking jokes about the weed because that was either in his house or it wasn't. There's no gray area with the weed. Sexual assault allegations need to be treated with a more ginger approach. Not to mention the article said more about the weed than the sexual assault.

BeeR, I can't honestly say any moderator giving you a warning for calling someone who sexually assaulted a female a douchebag. Regardless if they are a fighter. Any man who sexually assaults another individual is a douchebag, regardless of their profession.

I had no intention of commenting on whatever charges he's allegedly charged with, it's not really messed up to not comment about a sexual assault charge we know absolutely nothing about. We don't even know if he is actually being charged for it.

I don't think the District Attorney would issue a warrant for his arrest on the charges unless they planned on prosecuting but I agree with you, Aether. I will wait until the facts surface. More often than not a warrant indicates impending prosecution but in the case of professional athletes they will issue to get them into custody so they can hear their side. Most of the time it's a preemptive measure to ensure that they can't flee if they are guilty. I choose to wait on matters like these.

How comes you have known many a rape victim? Are you in law enforcement?
