I scored it 49-46 for Edgar. The biggest tell to me is if you watch Penns body language after the fight he felt like he had lost. Edgar had better movement and stuck to a great game plan. Penn should have tried to take Edgar down and gone for subs because he was losing on the feet.

I could of easily given Edgar four rounds, Edgar executed his plan, and Penn had the look of defeat.

i was suprised after watching the fight that edgar won. that fight reminded me a lil (very lil) of shogun/machida.. the difference for me was that BJ did look like he was beat.. idk what happened to him, but he looked beat in the first rd.

I personally had it 48-47 for Penn. He def took the first 2 rounds in my books while Edger stole the last two. The third could have gone either way, but I thought for sure they would give it to the champ.

I think what really sealed it for Frankie was that he took the last two frames, which leaves a lasting impression in the judges mind, so I cant really blame them for giving it to him, it was such a close fight.

Despite the fact I think Penn won, he didnt go after it enough in the end so he only has himself to blame.

Edgar won rounds 3 rounds to bj 2 and you cud argue edgar win 4 rounds.bj did not look his self and to get beat in the stand up was amazing.Even his corner new he was getting beat cause they told him to take him down.

There is no way in hell you could give Edgar 4 rounds. His own corner after round three said "your down on rounds, you gotta win this one."

I personally feel like Penn landed the more significant shots, and that he should have won.

He stuck to a good gameplan but fight metric shows he was hit more times than Penn. Reguardless of body language Penn landed more damaging strikes.

It sure as hell was no 50-45.
Fight was close. Penn deserved to lose bad game plan
He should have grappled with edgar and went for subs
Say what u will but his ground game is his strongest more than
Striking. Good for edgar. Curious to see if penn stays at lightweight
Or goes up to welter.

Out of curiosity, what do you believe Fight Matrix is not factoring in?

I was waiting for that at and after the 3rd. I was just expecting him to take him down and work his ground game. Penn must have let all the "you have the best hands in MMA" go to his head.

I don't want to shout out what I scored the fight because I wasn't even thinking of it while watching the fight. I want to watch the fight again with that scoring mentality again, for sure!

it was a fun one to watch and who doesn't love controversy like this? It's going to shake up the light weight division! good stuff coming up. Light weights are going to be as scared of Frankie as they are of Penn.
