Why is there such a demand for GSP to move up the dude is vary happy being the best at 170 and is content just dominating everyone why move up? To lose? He must feel more comforatable at 170 he trains with nate who is one of the best 185ers so I'm sure he knows how he would do. I think GSP is smart when he is done he will be the greatest hell he is the greatest 170er of all time.

Id much prefer a fighter move up in weight to face a challenge, rather than stay at a weight that offers him no feasible challenges in order to secure a spot as the best ever in his weightclass.
From my perspective, the act of staying at WW and not testing himself will damage his legacy more than someone like BJ Penn, who constantly wants to move up in weight in order to face a challenge, even if he loses when he does so.

And i mean, come on, anybody who has even a grain of knowledge about mma cannot dispute that Gsp is the best WW there has ever been. He doesnt need to stack up meaningless wins against fighters to prove this point.

As stacked as the division is, the only fighter currently in the UFC WW division who I'd like to see fight GSP is Paulo Thiago.

Fitch would get handled again. Koscheck would be a little more interesting, but I think GSP takes a UD over him. Daley would just get taken down immediately.

Paulo Thiago and Nick Diaz are the only 2 fighters in MMA who I'd really like to see fight GSP at WW right now.

I would love to see GSP defend his belt against Paulo Thiago, Jake Shields, and Nate Diaz in that order this year!
If your going to dream, dream big!

Honestly I don't want to see the fight vs Shields. I think it would be pretty lopsided in GSP's favor...I'd much rather see him face Diaz...even though that may be just as lopsided...I think Diaz can atleast make the fight interesting, and maybe coax GSP into getting reckless.

You're completely right about shields. It might be a technical wrestling match at best. If Koscheck and Fitch can get out wrestled by GSP, who's wrestling is only getting better, what makes someone think that Shields would be any better? The only thing I could see being different is GSP might not mind standing for a little while, and he could potentially get a tko over shields.

I would love to see Thiago fight him, and especially Diaz. There aren't that many BJJ specialist in WW, and BJ Penn is really the only one GSP has had. I'd like to see what he does when faced with someone like Diaz.

Shields doesnt pose any more of a threat then whats already in the UFC WW div. and I dont care to much to see that fight. What I do want to see is GSP follow in Anderson's footsteps. Start alternating between 170 belt defense and 185 contenders, it will solve the issue of finding a true top contender at 170 and it will be hugely entertaining seeing another P4P great take on a fresh new pool of fighters... Plus lets not forget about the end all, beat all, of SuperFights...

.I think I would cry with tears of pure joy, if A. Silva signed to fight GSP...

Jake Shields is an option, but Shields cant discuss being traded while he is at SF i think. I hope that is the fight, and I bet everything it will look like Hardy gsp part 2.
However GSP could box Jake no prob ftw...prolly a better gameplan imo.
