So Frank Mir lost too Carwin and Lesnar, he now finds himself in an awkward postion.

My question is simple, but confusing and slightly deep. Who, or what in your opinion is the best thing or opponent for Frank Mir. If other please leave a post
Thanks

He should fight cain so he can lose 2 in a row and i can laugh and he can cry. Then Cain can lay some whoopass to the rest of the division.

give Mir the winner of Nelson/Struve, it'll be a good rebound win for Mir to stay legit or it'd be a huge win for either of those dudes.

I was thinking gabe but he would get knocked out again
I doubt dana wants him fighting cain or junior in case he beats them
My guess would be a james toney probably or even a heath herring bout
I doubt rematch with big nog. I will be curious to see who he fights now

Once Brock loses to Carwin those two should fight. Before Mir takes any more losses and that huge pay day for the UFC falls into irrelevance.

I was thinking Big Nog rematch would be good...both guys could survive back to back losses in the UFC and if Nog wins it sets up another decent rubber match in 2011 or 12
But I think the Neslon STruve winner is a pretty good option...neither of those guys would lose much face dropping to Mir and it would keep Mir legit should he win...however high risk for Frank as I think losing for him would be a MASSIVE blow to his career.

Mir is really in a tight situation after the loss to Carwin.
Right now Frank should be in his prime and stay close to the title, but the problem we have now is that the division is stacked with some very scary dudes. The way I see it,Mir is good enough to keep a good presence in the HW division but its yet to be seen if he can stay relevant.
For Mir to stay at the top of the heap he's going to need a win over JDS or Cain Velasquez because those guys are right behind Carwin and Brock.
After watching JDS and Cain fight, then seeing what Carwin did to Mir i'm not sure if he can beat either one,but he certainly can't be counted out of the game either. I see Mir as a top 5 for a while to come, but the fight with Carwin may prove to show that Mir's force in the division is not what it once was. I agree with what
sclasclemski said above about facing the winner (or even the loser) of Struve vs Nelson.
In the event of a loss,Mir's stock would plummet but yet the UFC would still be making a new star out of Nelson or Struve which is good for business too.

im gonna have to say cain valasquez. im still not sold on this guy. he needs to fight a big powerful fighter like mir to see what he would look like against carwin or lesnar. hes a small heavyweight so i think he could have problems with the giants like carwin lesnar. no disrespect for the guy cause hes a hell of a fighter. i also want to see todd duffee fight some more. that guys a genetic freak, i see alot of potential in him. anybody thats naturally that big and athletic has a chance to destroy some people.

I voted for Nog vs Mir. It makes sense to me, they're at about the same spot IMO.

I would also like to see Mir vs Dos Santos. Dos Santos is great but hasn't been tested on the ground yet, Mir can do that and he's big.

My third choice would be the winner of Struve vs Nelson.

I am digging the Struve vs Nelson winner. that would be pretty cool to see. Nog vs Mir 2 would be fun to watch but, I think, they should go in a different direction.

I would like to see Mir fight Lesnar again IF Lesnar loses to Carwin. I just see it losing it's interest if Mir fights someone else and takes another loss.

He's lost twice recently and Kongo is not a meaningful win. This puts him below santos and velasuqez. You either have to give him a meaningless fight or Gonzaga.
