I think this is a pretty even fight actually. Saunders striking on the outside isn't exactly spectacular, but I don't think Fitch has shown the finishing ability standing to take Saunders out. Fitch is obviously a much better wrestler, but Saunders is bigger and taller (length can help a lot with sprawling). I could see Fitch failing a take down and ending up caught in Saunders clinch (a spot we all know no-one wants to be).

Still, while I give Saunders an excellent chance, Fitch has more ways to win. He can take him down, work ground and pound, look for a submission (if he can get past Saunders long legs), or out point him on the feet. Fitch UD

This is a big moment for Fitch, if he can get the ground and pound tko, that could earn him some hype as next victim 4 GSP (if Alves is out 4 a while) I dont think Saunders can stop the great wrestling Fitch brings.
This is also big for Saunders who could steal Fitches number 1 contender spot if he beats him. It is a long shot, but if Saunders goes buck wild like he did vs Davis and the other guy, he has a chance. His knees in the clinch if thrown non stop could win him this fight.

Ufc made a exciting throwdown fight to a boring one
I can see why they kept fitch on the card
Props for ufc to pull one out for those fans who paid for
Their ticket
I had alves beating him and saunders beating jake
Now who knows

fitch is a guy that isnt afraid to eat some shots to get inside for the takedown and he has had his chin touched up a bit lately against opponents that arent as lethal as saunders on the feet. im smelling an upset here, saunders has a good enough guard to keep fitch from mounting anything too serious from the top, and hes the far better striker IMO.

God damnit, Saunders would have mauled Ellenberger now I have an actual tough choice to make. Fitch can definitely take a decision with his wrestling, and he has a chin so I don't know if Saunders will be able to KO him. **** I hate to say it but as much as I like Saunders I can't see him winning this fight.

I think Saunders is being substantially overrated after KOing Davis and Fitch is going to make that painfully obvious. Fitch/Ellenberger would have been the best bet, but Saunders has a name and hype.

The Saunders/Ellenberger fight compelled me. Boxing/wrestling power vs Thai clinch/BJJ technique. I had Ellenberger picked with a slight advantage due to his strength but I admitted Saunders had a good chance if he fought like he did against Marcus Davis.

This fight bores me. Either Fitch will get KTFOed or will grind out another snorefest. Oh, and he'll indirectly refer to me as a dumbed-down fan in a later interview, even though I really appreciate a good ground game.

I don't blame Dana or Joe or anyone in the UFC for this. It's a bad situation that they've scrambled to resolve. And I'm really glad Ellenberger is getting paid. I'm just bored by Fitch's lack of evolution in the standup realm.

This made my life easier. I had Ellenberger beating Saunders. Now I have Fitch simply out classing Saunders. Saunders is making his name of fighting mediocre talent let's see how he does against the head of the class. If Fitch wins via decision who cares really, everyone knows his game plan, exciting or not it's your job as a fighter to come up with a game play to void his. Saunders asked for this fight, bad career choice.

Bum deal all around. Especialy if Thiago has to stop fighting Brain issuse are nothing to be played with. As for Fitch and Saunders..........going to be a long fight with Fitch winning a UD. At least Ellenberger gets paid....even "win" money! i was really looking for3ward to watching him fight again. I had him picked to beat Ben.

so why is ellenburger being replaced? Because Fitch is a bigger name? That's kind of shitty to be honest. I guess it's nice that he gets a win bonus no matter what but I'm sure the dude wanted to fight, and I would much rather have seen that fight than this one.

Fitch is a great fighter but I find him really boring.

i'm a little disappointed since i was expecting to make quite a bit of money off of Ellenberger AND alves. now i can't do either haha. either way it provides an intriguing match up, as i am curious to see if Saunders continues to improve.
