Bloody Elbow An article in tomorrow's Nikkan Sports newspaper says that Yoshida's retirement fight in ASTRA will most likely be against Fedor. The exact quote is "Retirement match against Fedor, world's strongest man". According to the newspaper, Fedor's camp got in contact with Yoshida when he announced his retirement fight somewhere around February 8th and both parties have been negotiating ever since. There is a final meeting that will be held in Japan at Dream 13 which should finalize the negotiations. If nothing pans out after Dream 13, then they apparently have other fighters readily available to fight Yoshida.

Gotta love those crazy Japanese. Although you have to take anything their newspapers say with proverbial salt.

this is dumb maybe 10 years ago, but Fedor reaching out to get this fight instead of Brock Lesnar is very telling. Maybe it's not just M-1 stopping Fedor from fighting Werdum and in the UFC. I think Fedor has reached his retirement also.
fedor is one of my favs but he needs to beat 3 of these guys
Carwin JR CAIN MIR LESANR
to be number 1 fighter on the rankings
, Fedor has lost more of my respect recently by cancelling Werdum, and saying Overeem fight wont happen because of rumored roids situation.
all the haters post now!

Hmmm i strongly disagree with the guy above.
But this post can now be deleted as in the article it reads
UPDATE: An email from M-1 Global's Evgeni Kogan dismisses this rumor:
This story is obviously not serious.

I don't think it's a good matchup, and its obviously a waste of time, but how is this different then..
Kimbo vs. anybody James Toney vs. Anybody Anderson Silva vs. James Irvin Couture vs. Coleman
etc.... the UFC is guilty of the same BS.

Told ya, IDK why people post bloody elbow blog rumors. Also, their headline they have says REPORT, you left that out of your headline, making it seem like fact.
MMA media needs to change. Last week every credible site was reporting Chuck vs Franklin with no concrete facts. I guess it still may happen, but for F sakes, some of these guys need some journalistic integrity. BE is full of crap a lot of the time I've noticed, people think they're the gospel.

Fedor needs to fight some real opponents. Especially after Rogers roughed him up for a round. I still consider Fedor number 1 in the HW division...but man...the dude has to come to the UFC. Over and over the UFC is proving that it's fighters are head and shoulders above the best Pride had to offer and any other organization out there. Fedor won't stay my number 1 HW for long unless he fights the real competition. I say half the top UFC HWs have a shot at beating Fedor.

fedor is the champ.
if the UFC doesnt think hes the top dog than they need to come to him and prove it.its a 2 way street.and to be honest im getting tired of all this fedor needs to come to the UFC bs.
i have no problem with fedor facing anybody,he does what hes supposed to do.which is beat anyone whos put in front of him.hes CONTINUOUSLY done that yet theres still people out there that are so up the UFCs *** that they think fedor actually NEEDS to come to the UFC to "prove" hes #1.
theres to much UFC nutthugging
