“Another battle and another Lyoto. Everything is new, the focus, the strategy ... it's my big dream. I'll concentrate and go and fight with even more desire. I´ll be even hungrier this time – to conquer a UFC belt has always been my dream. Lyoto is different to other athletes … We recruited some karatekas from Curitiba, who helped me a lot. I have [Andre] Dida, Marcelinho and Tuba to help me with the tactical stuff. Marcelinho watched Lyoto's fights like 15 times, we joked that he became Lyoto."

Mauricio Rua talks to FightersOnly about his rematch with Lyoto Machida at UFC 113 on May 8 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Should be a good fight, I never thought I'd see the day where I root for Shogun in a fight.

BLASPHEMY!!! And from my own camp!! I feel completely betrayed!!
Honestly though, if Shogun comes up with another winning strategy to defeat Machida then I'd be willing to put him up there with some of the greatest stategist to have ever fought in the sport!

Agreed.
I still don't think he won. (I know i'm in the minority) if he can make it as close as it was last time and/or actually pull out a win then Shogun is the freakin' man.

Machida totally has the advantage here in that sense. Shogun trained for Machida as we all know him and now has no idea what to train for. Machida knows what was most effective against him and can train based on that so that it doesn't work next time.

This second fight I believe will be better than the first. It will be interesting to see how the styles will match up.In the first fight Machida fought like he normally does but was less effective then he has been in the past.Shogun fought much more conservatively and seemed more technical in the first fight than past fights.I think both of them will change the game plan up and try to finish.Should be very exciting!

I have a weird feeling that this fight is going to be rather uneventful with both guys being tentative and fighting to not lose rather than fighting to win.

I hope I'm wrong.

guys on the original sites post were saying how SHOGUN was a terrorist in pride, and ran through guys like his families life depended on it.

The shogun we saw vs Lyoto was better than he looked in ufc in the past.

But he could not take down or punch lYOTO hard enough to cause damage or end the fight.

All lyoto needs to do this time is be more motivated and avoid the kicks or not, and he will win imo.

I wish the terrorist shogun was fighting lyoto, but aggression can get you hurt vs the dragon imo.
I think the judges like randy and lyoto, and were doing lyoto a favor by keeping him undefeated imo....
i pick lyoto to win, and shogun to win like last time but have it be not enough.
we will see!!!

I agree. I think with Machida knowing some of the strategy from the last fight, mainly the leg kicks, he's going to be a lot more tentative. This could possibly make for a more exciting fight, because Shogun could continue to push and be aggressive and play right into Machida's counterattack.

I'm really looking forward to this, so I really hope it doesn't disappoint.

I see Machida dominating this time around, being patient, defending kicks, and countering with deadly accuracy...

As amazing as Rua's Muay Thai was last time around a fighter is most vulnerable on one leg, and if Machida can time up one of those kicks its gonna be game over quick...
