A pair of heavyweight strikers collide in June at UFC 115 now that Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic (26-7-2 MMA, 3-3 UFC) and Pat Barry (5-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) have agreed to a matchup.
Sources close to the event today told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) bout agreement should be distributed shortly and that the competitors were told it'll be part of the night's pay-per-view main card. MMAScrapsRadio.com first reported the fight earlier today.
Barry initially was expected to fight Gilbert Yvel (36-14-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) at the June 12 event.
Although not officially announced by the UFC, UFC 115 takes at GM Place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

If Mirko is smart,he'll take Barry down and work a ground and pound game.Get a stoppage or win a decision.
If he just stands up though,Barry will walk him down like Mark Hunt did and win an entertaining kickboxing match.

Barry is way faster standing. That will win him the fight.
Unless we see a strategic Cro Cop come in, and maybe take him down and work GnP, hes gonna lose.. I honestly thought Ben Rothwell would be a better matchup for Mirko so he can get a W.

I love this fight, i'm a huge CroCop fan and a huge Pat Barry fan...
I honestly see Barry taking CroCop out fairly easily here, Barry's striking is awesome.

This will be another tough test for Cro Cop. We might see his age here going up against a younger and faster fighter in Barry or we could see the old CC score a nice TKO victory, only time will tell. I'm happy about this matchup though, Barry will stand and trade with Mirko and isn't bigger than him like Kongo was.

i kind of disagree, i dont think we are going to see if CC is back on his **** and can knock barry out, i think he has to get on some new **** and show he can evolve his game. i dont think he is really an elite K1 level striker anymore, and even elite K1 level strikers need more than that to really be a factor in mma

Huh. Interesting. Hardonk was able to get to Barry's legs a bit, though. Maybe if Crocop game plans and executes properly he can return to his old form. I'd love to see if his K-1 skills are still the same. Let's not forget CC was a legitimate K-1 badass whereas Barry was just a high level kickboxer

Good point. If we were talking about a striking match in their prime, Cro Cop all day. As it is, I think this one is tough to call.

I can't see it not being at GM Place or Hockey Canada Place. Maybe rename it UFC place for the week.
I saw some drawings of the proposed new roof for BC Place, pretty cool actually.

I like this match and I think it will tell the truth about CroCop or help build fan base for Barry. It would be an easy fight for the old CroCop, but I think it will come down to CroCop winning with his punching power.
