One of mixed martial arts most promising talents will no longer answer to the powers that be under the M-1 Global banner, as Gegard Mousasi announced the end of his business relationship with the Vadim Finkelchtein-led fight promotion.

"After careful consideration, I have decided that it is in my best interest to part ways with M-1 Global. During the time I spent under their wing, M-1 Global, as a promoter and management company, allowed me to achieve many great things. I appreciate all they have done for me. My management is [now] being taken care of by someone close to me."

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Dana read this, tucked the boner he had up into his belt and then ran back to the office and started trying to tempt Mousasi away from Strikeforce!

maybe i'm crazy but i want to see strikeforce do well and I hope he stays with strike force. Of course i'd like to see the potential match ups in the UFC but i think it's better for the sport & the fighters long term if Strikeforce grows and having some of the top fighters is a key ingredient in their growth.
seems like a very smart move though. gives him the ability to get a better contract whenever his is up.

mousasi wants to try boxin out for a while..i ufc being a strict business as it is..probably won't let mousasi box..if you're in the ufc,your just there to fight for them,not for yourself..that means no a.d.c.c.,boxing or anything else,but ufc..if mousasi is smart he'll stay with strikeforce until he's done with his boxin and the other stuff that he wants to do..one more thing..mousasi said he'll never go back down to mw..since he doesn't like cuttin weight..if anything he'll move up to hw..not back down to mw...
