Hard-hitting Chris Leben (19-6) and undefeated Aaron Simpson (7-0) have agreed to throw leather in a middleweight bout at UFC 114 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 29, according to Hector Castro of the Ground and Pound, in conjunction with Rear Naked Choke Radio.

i dont like this matchup for leben's sake but it should be a scrap, simpson better use his wrestling and stay away from those bricks and he should pick up a decision, if not i see leben giving simpson the KO that lawlor couldn't provide.

Leben's wrestling isnt as good as Lawlor's or Simpson's. I dont think Aaron should have too much trouble consistently getting takedowns, wearing Leben down for a late TKO or Decision.

I don't think Simpson will be eager to trade after the Lawlor fight, so I think he'll ground and pound his way to a decision.

I like Simpson in this fight alot. I think the best thing for him coming off just pounding on guys and getting a KO and TKO here for a wrestler is to get popped one good time. Knowing he's not invincible in the stand up will make him relay more on his wrestling and doing most of his pounding there.

Chris Leben's wrestling is a lot better than people give him credit for. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up on top doing the ground and pound. Otherwise, he'll be the better guy standing. For sure he has a better chin and more power.
People are forgetting how solid Leben is because he's struggled lately. He was winning the fight against Rosholt before that beautiful sub. His fight with Bisping was very competitive.
I think this is a big step up for Simpson and one that he won't make it through. If Tom Lawlor can do that to him Leben should be able to put him away. Leben RND 2 TKO

I wouldnt count on Chris being able to outwrestle someone of Aaron's wrestling caliber and control. Also Leben dosnt throw good combinations at all he'll be lucky to land more than one punch. His striking is slow and has also deteriorated over the years as well. Say what you will about Simpsons last fight but he is the better wrestler here, much quicker and explosive in everything he does. This reminds me of the Rosholt fight except Simpson is more talented than Jake.
Just because he stood with everyone to this point dosnt mean he wont learn from fights, he was learning while getting through the first round against lawlor and got the decision. He's obviously going to come up with a gameplan for Chris he didnt know Lawlor had such improved standup. My guess would be to tire Leben and his mediocre gas tank out. Complete uphill battle for Leben unless Simpson gives him his only chance in a sloppy brawl. Leben is fighting a guy who's chin is just as good as his too.
