He's back.
After coming up short against BJ Penn in his Dec. 12 bid for the 155-pound crown, Diego Sanchez (21-3) will make his return to the welterweight division opposite John Hathaway at the upcoming UFC 114 pay-per-view from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday, May 29.
The "Nightmare" tweeted the good news earlier today.
After capturing the first ever Ultimate Fighter (TUF) Championship in April 2005, Sanchez went on to win his next five fights in the crowded 170-pound division. Unfortunately his former TUF nemesis, Josh Koscheck, derailed his title aspirations with a unanimous decision win in a bizarre battle of striking at UFC 69: "Shootout."

I like Hathaway too, why is he being thrown to an angry nightmare already?

I think Hathaway will surprise all and take this to a decision....maybe even a split....but lose.

I didn't know it would be hathaway, but I figured that the UFC would feed someone to Diego who, on paper, is significantly outmatched by him.
Hathaway, along with Ross Pearson, is my favorite fighter out of the UK right now and is a very promising prospect, but I think Diego is better than him no matter where or at what pace the fight takes place.
I'll be rather shocked if Diego lets this fight go to a decison.

Hathaway is the best prospect out of the UK right now imo, and I think he can win this. I know lots of you won't agree but I look forward to the large odds offered by the bookies.

I except nothing less than a war. Well idk how diego is going to rebound here from the loss and then returning to 170. I'll prolly take diego UD.

Hathaway is underrated and could pull the upset off, I think Diego just doesn't seem as confident as he was before the Koscheck fight. I think Diego will stop Hathaway in the second round with GNP, but Diego looked like he cut muscle to get to 155, and he never was that strong to begin with, and we could possibly see some decline in speed.

WTF!! Why wouldn't he stay at 155? There are just as many guys he could have had a rebound fight against at LW. I dont like the weight changes back and forth. He was a beast at Lw and does he really think a title fight against GSP would turn out beeter for him than against Penn? Maybe the UFC had a hand in it I don't know? Either way Diego should dispatch Hathaway without too much trouble.

i was really hoping to see diego stay at LW. i wonder what the reason was form returning to WW. maybe to much of a cut. he cant expect a title fight if he wont stay in the same class for long. i hope he doesnt become a gatekeeper cause i really like the nightmare.
