The ratings for Saturday's Strikeforce Miami event have been announced: The event drew 517,000 viewers on Showtime, a 52% increase over the 341,000 for SF Evolution in December. That means roughly 4% of all households with Showtime (about 12 million) were watching. For comparative purposes, the UFC counter-programming that night-a UFC 107 replay-did 2.2 million viewers on Spike.

If only Herschel Walker could fight on every card...

Well at least MMA's being reduced to a side show by every org.

I know he's getting a lot of credit for the ratings, but doesn't Lashleys WWF fans factor in here somewhere?

Weak numbers by any account. I'd like to see the 'Farce wither and die, and KOTC & Bellator to rise.

Most definitely. However, I'm guessing they're quite miniscule in comparison. ESPN wasn't all over Lashley's nuts. Lashley wasn't interviewed by every sports outlet in existence, either. He's also been "in the game" for some time now so the novelty has worn a bit.

I'm guessing Lashley accounted for maybe 10% of those numbers. MAYBE. Of course, that's only a guess...

10% Lashley
50% Walker
40% MMA fans

...or something close to that would be my guess.

Something else to consider. "Strikeforce: Evolution" was going up against "WEC 45" and a saturday night NFL game between the Saints and Cowboys. Both of those events surely would have impacted the ratings for Strikefoce.
