"Well, it's one of two things. Either they're going to allow me do it the way I wanna do it and build, or they're going to give me a title shot. Either or. I would like a title shot. I guess it's Overeem, he's the one who has the title right now. Him or Fedor, whoever. I wanted to take my time to build up but everyone's pushing me to get bigger and better fights so if I'm going to get bigger and better fights let's go for the best."

I think Rogers is too big of a jump for him...I think he should be brought up slowly...I don't think there was anything wrong with him fighting Sims...but he definitely needs tougher opponents...I wouldn't mind seeing him against James Thompson or Lavar Johnson...If he can take out Rogers that would certainly legitimize him very quickly.

I agree.....Sims was a perfect match up to see where he is with his game. I'd say give him JTT, and maybe one more "warm-up" fight before sending him up against opponents like Rogers and AA. Oh.....how about Big Tim....see how he deals with a tall striker?

Well if SF throws him in there against any top HW's I think he will lose(prolly get finished too) so lashley needs to stick with his plan he had setup 8 fights or whatever and SF needs to help him with that gradually increasing the level of opponent he faces.

Fedor would kill him and Overeem won't fight in the US.

with every win..strikeforce should give him a step in competitions..that way he'll be brought up smoothly..i wouldn't want to see him against james thompson..cause it'll probably look like the sims fight..i would have to say give him fujita..since dream and strikeforce are sharing rosters...

i think Lashley is all hype. he's not fighting guys who are not even close to his physical level and hes not even beating them convincingly.

he needs to step it up and fight opponents that we can believe are an actual threat or atleast start destroying some cans. if i have to watch him fight weak opponents it better be a mauling.

That's only the second time I've seen him fight but If I didn't know who he was I might forget his name. I think he has a shot against your average guys, but he's not much farther ahead than Herschel.

i agree with him fighting more befor he gets a shot at the big names, bu ti think he needs to be seriously tested. if he wins like 2 more fights i would like to see him fight rogers. he might get beat and then disapear or he might do well and be a legitimate fighter, either way, it'll either weed out a wannabe or find a real fighter.

I don't think that performance is enough for Bobby to get a shot at the title, if anything give him someone who is up there in the rankings if he wants to test himself, like Big Foot. Honestly, I think even Del Rosario would be a good fight for him...but he isn't deserving of a title shot yet, even though Brock got one after only a few fights, Brock was able to finish his opponents, Lashley hasn't really shown that killer instinct yet. I still think he should fight a veteran HW w/ a big name in his next fight, someone he can beat but something that would sell like Ken Shamrock lol or Ron Waterman...just someone he can dominate to build him up more. I'm sure Shamrock would take that fight. He'd be outweighed by like 30 lbs tho.

That sounds like a bit of sarcasm to me.

Maybe Strikeforce is wanting to push him into deeper waters than he feels prepared for, and he is saying, 'then why not Fedor.'

Just my opinion, but looking at the quote, I'd put money on that being a backhanded comment turned into an article headline.

Lashley needs to go to the UFC. they have a deeper heavyweight pool. theres plenty of guys that would make an interesting and challenging fight. Hardonk, Barry, Duffee, Crocop, Yvel, Kongo. i think all of those guys would be opponents that lashley could handle but still be a challenging threat.

Strikeforces 4 heavywieghts are all well above Lashleys level imo.
