Pub stunt, fight sucked but IMO he's a better ambassador for the sport then the guys who came from street fighting. Definetly a good guy, and I'm glad he did what he set out to do....he's not a good fighter but he did alright.

People are mad? i mean sure it was a bland fight, but you never gave your mom **** when she made some bland ass brocoli for dinner. No, you were appreciative of the food, or at the very least aware of the possible desert lurking at the end of your dinner.
And if said vegatable allows you to eat some desert, increasing the overall food you consumed in the long run, than how can you be mad? You eventually got cookies. Giant, Mint Chocolate Chip cookies that get knocked out by Robbie Lawler after dominating your tastebuds. Complaining that you didnt get Candy for your meal makes you look like that douchebag kid from the Reeses Cereal Puffs commercial who complained that he never gets candy for breakfast. Yeah, well maybe thats because you never ate your Brocolli, did you johnny?
Herschel Walker is a name, and names make money. Money keeps businesses working and producing their products. For Strikeforce this means more quality fights, with the downside being 12 minutes of brocolli and Charity coming away with the W.

I don't get how people can hate, Strikeforce would have been STUPID to put this fight on the prelim card and it was the man's first fight and hes only been training in MMA for like 2-3 months and his cardio was incredible for a 47 year old so give props where props are due. and Walker dosen't plan on being a champ or top p4p fighter, the man just wants to compete and its not about the money cause he donated his purse...the man just wants to compete and challenge himself, so I think you have to be a moron to hate on the man
thats my whole point, he had been training mma for like 2-3 months. thats not long enough to deserve a spot over guys that have been training their whole lives. and i think alot of people are bein so hypocritical its not even funny. Brock Lesnar and Bobby lashley transition to mma after bein Pro Wrestlers and people bash them like crazy, but its ok for Hershall Walker to transition to mma after being a football player?

complaining aint getting you anywere and it sure didnt change the fight card. i liked the fight. it wasnt to exciting but hershal walkers a class act and i think guys like him are good for the sport. even kimbo (i know, any experienced fan knows kimbo aint much of a mixed martial artist and i agree) is good for the sport in a way because they bring in fans and expose more people to MMA that may have never seen it or knew anything about it. people wanted to see hershal fight and in turn they got to see some really experienced and impressive fights and fighters via lawlor/manhoef and cyborg.

Fact of the matter is, Brock Lesnar, Herschel Walker, Boby Lashley, and Kimbo Slice all draw in people who otherwise wouldn't be watching the sport.
If any one of them gets a foot ball fan, a pro-wrestling fan, or someone who likes YouTube to watch MMA, we shouldn't complain. In the end it is growing the Brand. It will be good for the sport.
Granted, some of those people will only watch MMA if Lesnar, Walker, Lashely, or Kimbo is fighting. But some of them might stick around and learn to appreciate the other fighters as well.
It's the same thing with people who criticize TUF.

it was all a business move.why cant you all see that?
SF knew Walker would bring more interest than Riggs and Heiron.
Their isnt only hardcore fans out there like us guys.theres also people who are still new to MMA and Walker is a familiar name to them.
Props to SF for the move and decision they made to put Walker on the main card.AND at the same time potentially bringing in NEW MMA fans

Sour grapes. The fight wasn't "a joke" it was a solid fight. Considering that it was the first fight for a guy who has only been training for a few months and hasn't had a bunch of smokers and amatuer bouts...pretty impressive. If his name wasn't HW people wouldn't hate....or overpraise.
People were saying that SF was stupid for signing HW and he would get murdered in there and embarass himself and SF. I guess they are wrong. I know quite a bit about MMA too and if I had a fighter that fought his first ever fight like that, (and he wasn't 47) I'd think he'd have a great future in MMA. Does he have holes? Sure. Brock Lesnar has holes in his games and doesn't sub guys out when the opportunity is there. The whole Heath HErring fight he had opportunities to do stuff and spent his time contolling and rabbit punching. Does that mean Lesnar is a joke because he can't pull a sub? Please.
Ratings count. Jay will get his shot. He is probably the next guy to fight in a big show on a main card for a title.

as people have said, they had to put that fight on the main card, it was probably the most talked about fight on the whole card going into the event. as far as the fight goes, it was basically amateur hour, and thats to be expected out of a guy with 2 fights and a guy making his debut. what bothered me was the fact that nagy was physically so outclassed that it might as well have been a LW in there with walker. im hoping that if walker fights again they will at least find someone that can present a little challenge physically, that fight was just a guy being too strong for the other guy.
