Frank Shamrock, Pat Miletich, Carlos Newton, Maurice Smith, and Oleg Taktarov. What do all these mixed martial arts pioneers have in common? Renzo Gracie has defeated them all.The same Renzo Gracie who, slightly more than 18 years after his first professional bout, will finally be making his UFC debut when he steps in the Octagon opposite Matt Hughes in April. On a three-fight winning streak, it will have been more than three years since Gracie last fought.

Seriously after Matt Serra failing to win against Hughes(i will admit it was close) i do not see Renzo doing much more aside from pleasing Flash Entertainement ... It is a shame that he cost great fighters LIVE PPV time!

I think it will be a very competitive fight and both guys are in similar stages of their careers.

That said Hughes should have an advantage because he's the better wrestler and doesn't have to worry much about Renzo on the feet. On the ground I think its even enough for hughes to get a UD here.

This will not be close Hughes will steamroll Renzo like he steamrolled Royce! It is the first fight in a long time that Hughes have the advantage on the feet and that ,coupled with the fact that he will be able to basicly dictate where he wants to fight , does not look good for Renzo!

It's hard for me to guess what will happen in this fight.
My first impression is to go with Hughes, via UD or second round tko.

But on paper Renzo is much more dangerous than Royce and can make this bout very competitive in the stand up and should be able to mount a sufficient ground defense against Hughes.
Renzo has suprised me before, and I think he does have a chance of winnining this bout. Even if it's a small chance.

Renzo is one of the classiest fighters/people out there. I'm pulling for Renzo but if the old Matt Hughes comes to fight, it could be over quick

I hope Renzo destroys Hughes, but he'll probably be laid on for 15 minutes.
